Subject: My Freebies and AO/IBL lighting...

I have recently noticed images in Renderosity Gallery and elsewhere containing my freebies where chromed parts have rendered within the images as being black rather than chrome as they should be.

I believe such images were rendered using AO and/or IBL lighting... as I have just discovered that AO and IBL lighting does indeed make the chrome parts render as black.

I have found an easy fix for this particular problem so that my freebies with chrome parts render properly using ordinary, AO and IBL lighting.

I am in the process of fixing my freebies and the 5 fold Screen has been completed. As and when I modify the freebie models I shall add an Up-Graded date and IBL/AO + symbol to the thumbnails.

In the meantime... if you wish to fix the models yourself... go into the Material Room and for all chromed parts...  switch Reflection_Lite_Mult and Reflection_Kd_Mult 'off' and change the Reflection_Value from 1.0 to 0.8

Cool tip, thanks - and of course this would probably apply to other items which have this trouble.

Thanks for the freebies and the AO/IBL tip, which as EB noted will have uses elsewhere too.
