Subject: Render Sizing

Greetings and Salutations To All,

I am trying to upload a recent render. I am getting this message:The file you uploaded violates one or more of the following specifications for this gallery section: min 100 x 100 / max 4000 x 4000 @ 512 kilobytes. Please adjust your file size and try again

I don't know what this means. Obviously my render is too big. I know how to change image size using Microsoft Digital Imaging but I don't know how to get it inside the parameters required.

Please spay and neuter your pets. Strongly consider shelter adoption before spending $500 to $1000. If you MUST part with that kind of money for a pet, go to your local shelter, donate the money to them and pickup a highly adoptable pet. The shelters could sure use the donation.

There are two things to get right: the pixel dimensions (maximum 4000 x 4000) and the file size (maximum 512kBytes).

Assuming you have not done a huge render size, it's most likely that you are exceeding the file size. You can check the file size by looking at its Properties in your file browser - Windows Explorer  on a PC.

If the file size is too big, you can either a) reduce the image size (in pixels); or b) increase the compression of the image by saving it as a JPG image at a reduced "quality" setting. Whichever you do, make sure to keep your original full size/quality render!

See if MS Digital Imaging will let you save your render as a JPG, and if so it should allow you to set image quality. Decrease image quality slightly to give a smaller file size, but don't go too far or it starts to look real bad with compression artifacts.
