Aye you can import Poser stuff, see tutorial link in my signature for tips on gettign best from Poser imports :)
As for Carrara objects, well export then as obj format and import to Vue?

Dark Athiest,
well, my tutorial's bit advanced I must admit, but if you learn to set it up good from the beginning, an imported model you can save, and re-use many times, so if it's good at the start... :)
Every app handles materials a bit different, so importing a "generic" item, like a Poser person, can look very different in several apps, if you haven't tweaked it to get the best of the indiviual app's systems.
Oh, don't bother messing with Subsurface Scattering (translucency) for a bit, unless you want to test it to see, it's VERY fiddly to get right a lot of the time! ;)

Vue imports most industry formats very well - OBJ, 3DS, etc. Im reasonably certain that Carrara can export in both of these formats without too much trouble. But does it support exporting the mappings correctly? One of the thing I like about importing stuff into Vue is that, in the case of MAX/3DS to Vue, I can substitute native Vue shaders easily.

For objects I've modeled in Carrara, I UVmap the objects and bake their textures and export them as OBJ for import into Vue. Then I just apply the baked textures back onto the imported objects in Vue. I use the Inagoni Baker plugin for Carrara for baking the textures.
If I use the 3DS format from Carrara, I'll lose the ability to re-apply any baked textures and I'll also mess up the objects polygons.

Hello
This is probably going to seem like a silly question but i am wondering if all the content i have purchased for poser and carrara (sure i wont be able to use carrara stuff) can be used in vue 7.x and if so how would i go about doing this?
I have about 15gb of content and dont feel too hot on the thought of having to reinstall things.
Thanks
