Subject: Content Paradise Talk for the Orphaned, Disenfranchised

Meshbox ( ) posted Thu, 11 June 2009 at 10:15 AM · edited Sat, 01 February 2025 at 8:54 PM

Attached Link: CP Talk

If you are feeling a bit disenfranchised by the loss of the forums on Content Paradise, Id like to invite you to the new [CP Talk Group](http://www.contentcreatorsguild.net/group/contentparadisetalk).

Goals of Content Paradise Talk

-Provide a single, neutral location to talk about Content Paradise related topics. Talk about CP on Renderosity, DAZ 3D, Cornucopia 3D or others is talk on brokerages. CP is a brokerage. CCG is not.
-Provide a venue for CP Staff to talk to a community, not just one-on-one. Support is great, and Jason does it very well. But it doesn't address community based issues. CP Staff have all been invited to join.
-Adds back a promotional venue. If you release on CP, you have a place to talk about your releases. If you have a problem with a product on CP and want to compare notes with other users - now you have one.

I helped organize CP Talk because Meshbox has been a long time supporter and vendor on CP, and we'd like to maintain, replicate and improve on that. Won't you join us?

Holy crap! Its almost friday - okay, got a "language" advisory to get your attention :-)

Best regards,

chikako

Hey, sorry if I kind of slammed the photo gallery on there... gave the option to upload 100 images so I went ahead and did it while I was thinking about it.... -Les

And why the birthday? In Sweden where I live that is part of something like a Social Security Number and I don't like to part with that information.

Its something required by our platform provider, because of potential adult content that could show up - just like those things on PHPBB (we arent using PHPBB though).

I've got a picture and a website, but ain't a merchant.  I reckon non-merchants may still be disenfranchised, unless they're also allowed to join.

p.s. does it have age restrictions?  I recall trying to sign up to one of the new forum sites that were posted here, but it said "no members over 90" or similar :crying:

The simplest thing to use for a link if you have nothing else, is to link your gallery here.

As for the birth date you can always put in something sort of correct (it's just CYA for the hosting company).

CP Staff have all been invited to join.

No offense. If CP wanted to have an open public dialog or were interested in all the things you have listed in your feature set and directly communicate publicly with their customers for content and SM with software customers they would have keep some sort of methodology in place on their new website. They chose not to do that for a reason.

Having to use-rely on a 3rd party to provide an open-public dialog and or having customers go elsewhere (not on the CP site) to communicate publicly with CP staff would be awful disingenuous on their part if they so elect to join in my opinion.

I think they cut their own throat. Its honorable for you to try and save them..of course, its to your benefit as a vendor.
Perhaps they should have thought of the impact on customers and sales prior to becoming lame in the head.

Just so that you know, you are not communicating with CP staff at this proposed site. Chikako is just a vendor.
CP has a support email system set up through their website and that is their preferred method of resolving customer concerns and/or questions.

Yes indeed.  And the major advantage of a 'support email system' is that complaints can be deleted immediately without any need for others to see them, and congratulatory crap from prostrate fan-boys can be posted immediately to the site.  CP is doing this already.

I considered emailing them with my critiques of their new and improved website, but then I remembered ... I have a life.

Exactly why my statement contains the words " on their part if they so elect to join"   Their and they refers to CP staff.

There are lots of lists and forums out there related to poser and 3D that are very valuable. If this one provides value then great.

CP Staff talk to the community??? If they wanted that they would not have closed their own forums. It's obvious that they rather not do that. First they stopped communicating with people on their own forums, then they closed it..... I guess the message is clear, isn't it?

It's great that you're trying to do this, but others have offered this way before you (like PhilC), I already accepted his invitation.

I know it's in your best interest to promote CP and try to salvage what's left, but if they want me to return, they have to change their attitude and turn some things around themselves.

Also you have to remember that people buying at CP don't want to be involved in a forum. CP listened to their customers and gave them what they wanted.... no forum. At least they claim that this what their customers wanted.

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

I won't be signing up for this and won't be back to cp other than to get my items I paid for.  I will not be buying any new versions of Poser or any other software they sell. They pretty much told us how important their customer base is so I'm out  of there.
