Hi Jen. I read in one of the P8 threads that you hoped the new renderer could help do a tilt-shift effect, how's this? No need for P8! :) This was done in PoserPro, but should be doable in P7 too, I didn't try. It's a straight render saved as a .tif, and all I've done to it is signed it and save-for web in CS4 to upload it here. Now, there is a slight caveat, and that is that I needed to use a Python script to help, and that was AdvancedRenderSettings by semidieu. This is because it allows you to select two actors for min/max distance for DoF. I added 2 ball props (made invisible for the render), one just in front of the car, and one at the corner of the building. I upped the pixel samples in my render settings, and then I rendered.

Anyway, I needed a break from the P8 threads whilst my P8 content downloads, (only about another 5 hours, yay! Shame it's been downloading for about 4 already!) so had a play at a tilt-shift effect. Hope you liked it :)

hmmm. Even looking at that image I have no idea of what a "tilt-shift effect" is.  Does it translate to blurred edges?

EDIT:  Ok never mind. I googled. Found this image that explains it very well.

LiS, it's Stonemason's Urban Sprawl from DAZ.

Acadia, a tilt-shift lens is a perspective correction lens, it allows a camera to be tilted up or down, yet allow the focal plane to stay parallel to the sensor/film, thus avoiding (for example) the tops of buildings pointing in towards the middle of the picture (converging verticals). However, this type of lens can give the effect of objects looking like toys due to a very narrow depth of field. So although I'm saying tilt-shift effect, it's not a corrected verticals effect, but the small localised depth of field effect I'm refferring to.
There's some good examples at the link.

Sorry for being so late!  Yesterday was stupid busy for me, LOL.

Thanks for this!  I have Advanced Render by Semidieu (that man is a freakin' genius, LOL), so I'll have to give that a try!  :)  That looks awesome, raven :)
