Subject: What are the orange markings on this P8 render??

Never seen this before. Render settings are: Cast shadows...on ray tracing ray tracing bounces...2 irradiance caching....100 indirect light quality 5 pixel samples....7 min shading rate...0.10 bucket size...64 smooth polygons use displacement maps

 I assume you have a spot light. If you do and not near Poser at the minute, on the property panel check how you have the fall off set, if at all. When I tried square fall off I got some orange spots like that. I think the option was linear and it solved it for the scene I had.

the light set i was using was the P8 ...studio broadlight ao

there are some bad settings in render and/or render script: note that there's no occlusion.
this is a big difference between rendering a ball and some floating planes using the render script:
there's little context for realism in such a scene IMVHO, but here there is more.
