Subject: Glow Shader?

3-d-c ( ) posted Sat, 29 August 2009 at 12:36 AM · edited Wed, 04 December 2024 at 11:36 AM

Hi @ all.

I am seeking for an option to create a shader in Poser for some glowing Material. Something like a glwoing edge or so.
I think i recall having seen  a threat for this before or a tutorial, but my seekings had not been successful.
I am on Poser Pro.

Any help is much appriciated.

THanks

If it's in Poser 8, no special tricks are required, you can just use the Ambient_Color and Ambient_Value channels much like in other rendering apps (like Cinema4D's Ambient channel).  WIth Indirect Lighting (basically Global Illumination in other apps) the color emitted by the material will actually emit light and bounce around the way you probably want.

If in older versions, you can make the material "glow" the same way, but other surfaces in the sceen won't "see" it without some work on each surface.
