Subject: New problem with poser 8

Poser 8 Worked fine for me last week, (running on Win 7)

but today, suddenly all pop up menus take a very long time to close when you click "ok" or "cancel" or the program just locks up.

Anybody else having fun with this?  I suspect a Win 7 update.

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

I've observed some weirdness lately where an FFRender process won't shut down properly when P8 finishes rendering, and it just sits there, continuing to eat up processor cycles.

Last night, I noticed my machine becoming particularly sluggish, and when I checked the Task Manager, I discovered at least four instances of FFRender ... which is somewhat alarming, since I'd exited from Poser over an hour before.

Related?

I've had the same hang up with the bottom right corner for a while now.

Whenever rendering in an external process, and FFRender.exe has a problem to finish a render, always check the taskmanager.
Big chance it is still running, even with poser closed.

Restarting Poser and a second render, will start another FFRender.exe.
if you can duplicate it in any way, file a ticket to SM with as many details as possible.

Sturkwurk: Are you running outlook at the same time as you render?
If so, close it, and the render will probably finish.
To get rid of this problem you have to restart the system. I have had this twice in the past few months - the last time was last week. After restarting everthing works fine as it should.
