Ok What I am trying to so is this.

I did this render the other day and did not use VSS because i was in a hurry and didn't want to do all the node wrangling required to get the blender node into the mix along with the scar map.

Now I have  decided to go back and try the same character with a few tweaks and using VSS.

I get the above pictured render in this thread. As you can see the displacement works fine. The problem is I am wanting the scars to be white or at least paler than normal skin tone. But with the VSS I don't know how to get what I want.

Anyone know how to get what I am wanting?

EDIT: Oh yeah I know I have to play with the bump setting a bit. My VSS settings aren't  where I want them yet.

Use the Albino shader I posted, and plug your scar map into the Albino strength parameter.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Would that allow me to get the SSS along with the scars standing out? I may need help with that. At this point I have no clue where to start.

Ok answered my own question about the SSS but still trying to figure out how to get the scar map plugged in properly.
