Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 11 2:52 am)
There is such a thing for those into making cards and scrapbooks called "Digi-stamps". I've used Poser to that end. Is that what you were thinking of?

Yep A big increase. About a year ago i tried to go to the venders of a lot of the top Digital scrapbook buisness' and no one wanted them. Now i can't get in the door there are so many artists. A huge increase in this way.I too have noticed more people starting to sell Poser clip art but I wonder if anyone is actually buying it.

When you consider there are entire stores here in Oz (not one, but several all dotted around the landscape) dedicated to serving the needs of card-makers and scrap-bookers you can see the potential is there. Marketing your product is key to your success... what I want to get is one of these:

To be honest it probably is a little more more because more people are able to handle 2D clipart products than people who can handle 3D content products.
From talking to many of the artists out there some have been able to do really well with it. There is a thing called Pixel Art that for years made between $200 USD and $800 a week. But this niche mixed personal life and beliefs with business and it created tons of drama. The artist selling the art pretty much killed their own Market.
I was just curious since I'm thinking about getting into the business of selling 3D renders as clipart since I make so many and it's easier to make clipart with transparent backgrounds than going through the process of creating the right background.
Very interesting! :-)

There used to be a huge market in the usa for stamps. I have been out of the loop for a while so i don't know how popular this is. Google it and see! Wow, you could do some work also!!! I would do more research and see. Remember don't think locally think globily!! Around the world. I have opened up some doors by selling around the world. In fact most of my sales come from outside the USA!! Just food for thought. MArketing is the key! Don;t forget a great website and making sure your keywords and meta tags correctly say what you are.

> Quote - Is the total monthly revenue for a 2D clipart product pretty comparable to creating a 3D content product? This depends on the artist. I have been in both worlds for a while and i make more with my 2d than my 3d. I am a beginner at heart. I have only been doing clothing textures for about a year and i have alot of growth to do. I have been doing 2d since 1996 doing websites. You have to show the world what you can do. Think out of the box. do something everyone else is not doing. Most clipart or tube artist are posing figures and slapping a price on them. NOT MUCH CREATIVITY! I was told recently that i have the talent and i need to think outside the box. Create something new, stand out., She was right. There are to many artists doing the same thing. This is what my goal for 2010 is. How can i take my product a give it a kick. Do the research. See what others are doing then take that and do something NEW with it.
The 2d world wants a new kick not the same old stuff!!!

But tight now the market is flooded with clipart or poser tubes as they are known. I do have to be honest. Money can be made but don't expext to be rich. I am struggling now because so many are doing the samething. I had a store owner tell me she was flooded with clipart artists trying to sell at her store and she has had to turn most of them away including me. She just doen't need 50 people doing the same thing. She told me to create NEW!! do the research and think outside the box!!!
This is what i am doing.
"Poser Clipart" or "Tubes" as they are known in the Paint Shop Pro world, isn't anything new. It's been around a number of years. *There are hundreds of sites on the net that offer these images for free. *
I had a site up for years that offered thousands of them for free but took it down last year due to financial problems. I've recently purchased another domain but haven't yet reuploaded the content to it.

here you go!!! Remember this is a smaller size reduced from 3600 pixels to 600 pixels so it may not be very clear. This is just a sample of what you can do! The possiblities are endless! I added 2 figures to give you an idea of what you can do!!! Have fun.Hmmm. Not really.
Clip art is simply individual scenes/images that can be pasted together in a graphic program to make a picture.
In Poser you can render things like trees, furniture, people, buildings etc. Save each one individually as a .png file. That's a file without a background. Then someone takes that image and pastes it to a background of their choosing and adds other 2D stuff to it too to make their own picture. Some use the images to make websets.
And depending on the person's terms of use, some people may even use them in their commercial ventures.
I didn't care what people did with the tubes that I offered so long as they weren't claiming them as their own and redistributing them. Many used them for websets that they sold, to make greeting cards and a couple even wanted to use them in their business logo. I was fine with that. It was just something fun for me to do and I wasn't interested in making money off of it.

Yep ditto, But now alot of them are being used in scrapbooking pages like i did above. There are so many uses it is hard to put it all down. Journal pages, incrdimail . I sell the set for commercial use and have a single club on my site. You can see it if you want ideas. Just go to my site to see. I make scrapbooking kits also.I can't sell.
I'm a nurse by profession - good job I'm not in sales because I'd starve. I'll make a ton of freebies but I'd have to be pushed to sell. I think it's a gift: either you have it or you don't.
I can see a lot of market potential in this area and admire people who take advantage of it to create an enterprising niche for themselves. More power to them! It's just not me.

My wife creates computer generated art and recently told me that she has noticed an increase interest in the number of people interested in Poser Clipart. Has anyone else noticed a similar increase interest in this trend?
