Is there any way to paint materials to the landscape? Say I wanted to make a road or a snowy patch some where.

What version of Vue would I need to do this if it is possible at all?

Thank you very much for your time.

Vue 7 and 8 infinite allow painting materials directly onto a terrain in the terrain editor (probably other versions like Complete allow this too??)

But you can easiy do this anyway without this function by creating distribution maps in photoshop which is what I always used to do before (and still do occasionally now)

Complete (7.4 in my case) allows it. Also keep in mind that a terrain can be a "waterplane", allowing you to paint "streaming" effects or partially frozen areas.
