I have a prop that I want to turn into a conforming figure. The prop looks fine to start out with but when I turn it into a conforming figure it gets cracks up near the shoulder of the character. Below is a pic of what I mean. The orange arrow points to the cracks.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the cracks. I tried tessalating/traingulating the original prop thinking that it might be bad geometry but it doesn't seem to help.

Many thanks!!

look at the joint zones for the chest and collar area. You may need to adjust them to ensure the prop is fully covered.

Only a guess but ...

It would appear that the vertices are not "weld"ed where the crack occurs.

OK. I think I have the problem solved for the most part. There were some facets on the shoulder assigned to the neck and head which I think was causing the cracks.

Now I'm just having a problem I've been having for some time with Michael 4. Whenever I load Michael 4 to a figure in the setup room I get this little "bone-like" appendage coming out of the waist. The orange arrow points to the....er....thing.

What am I doing wrong? I loaded an OBJ file then went into the setup room and loaded Michael 4 into the setup room. As soon as I do that I get this weird appendage.

Please help!

Many thanks!!

Not only weld.
You used autogroup and I bet that in your figure some groups touch each other, athought theirs bones are not next in chain. For example chest group touch shoulder (right or left) group, but in the middle should be collar (right or left)
