I've created simple prop for fast render. I use it for presentations of models, faces, poses etc. as a simple environment. [ http://www.sharecg.com/v/38688/Poser/Simple-environment-prop-and-bacground](http://www.sharecg.com/v/38688/Poser/Simple-environment-prop-and-bacground) I always have problems with math fuctions and I'm not able to obtain effect which I need. It would be great if any material expert can advise me how can I obtain mountain shape with this prop.

That would be your displacement channel on the main PoserSurface node that will need to have some number put in it. The value will depend on your units (inches or feet or whatever) setting. Also, in the render, you will need to have a value in min displacement and also use displacement maps ticked.

Be aware that the entire surface will be affected, so the "mountains" will be over your entire surface.

I should not make you to download this prop from sharecg. Sorry.

There is no displacement map. Prop is made with half of cylinder. Material nodes you can see below.
I'b like to know which function should I use with P node to obtain mount/hill shape on transparency map.

I've actually downloaded your prop and have it loaded in Poser 7.

I'm still not clear what you are trying to do. I see a dish with walls. are the walls meant to be the mountains?

BTW, very clever use of textures...

Exactly. I'd like to use function which let me obtain weave looks like mountain on the skyline.
I suppose that I must interact P node with sth else. ATM I use P node with clouds - function step, but I do not like it.

I'm afraid I'm a bit out of my depth... I only ever use displacement for elevation of mesh, so this is a new wrinkle to me.
Anyone? (passing the baton)

Maybe today, when everybody have 1 year more experience with Poser, I'll find solution ;)
Best wishes
