Subject: you modelers! how can I make a change in V4 that ...

softcris ( ) posted Fri, 05 February 2010 at 12:39 PM · edited Sat, 01 February 2025 at 6:13 PM

Yeah! I'm thinking in a possibility to make a change (PoserPro or Poser8) in V4. Like some kind of 'egg' like in both legs and arms to start.
These'eggs' should not loose the 'legs movements' but maitain these as well.
Anyone can tell -me how to?
thanks

I dont understand exactly what you are after. You can parent a prop to the leg, upper or lower and it will follow any animation of the leg.

Ok, I'm trying to make an 'egg' in the knees region. Like a small egg attached to the joints. The V4 should move/pose normally with the 'joint egged'. Easier to undestand?

BTW, I like your sig.  I should try that line the next time I see my Congressman!

I'd love to see a Poser version of a Pak Protector.  Loved those books immensely, even if Niven did run out of ideas a few years ago.

Looks like this could be do-able with a magnet at the top of the shin, use a fairly small mag zone positioned over the joint, in the magnet properties tab, click "Add element to deform" and then select the thigh. expand the magnet's x and z scale and perhaps move the magnet forward a little to avoid too much bulge at the back. None of this should affect the joint's functionality.

kind of complicated for me..but I'm trying anyway...so far a disaster! Thanks for the tip! I'll exercice it until I make it. :)

Hi softcris, thought I'd double check what I posted, especially as I just had a problem with a magnet crossing a joint on a clothing item. The way M4 is set up though means its not an issue here (shin and thigh are divided above the knee) no need to add "elements to deform" Hopefully this is something like what you are aiming for. My display units are set to "Feet"

MagBase
scale 14%
x, y & z 0 degrees rotation
x tran -0.287
y tran 1.659
z tran -0.013

y scale 115%
z scale 136%

y rot 0
