Ohh lordie can someone help me please is on knees bit of a lie but not far off :D

I just upgraded from vue 6 to vue 7 why why the hell did I do that?

be still taggart

Ok here is my prob, I bring things from poser over to vue, course alpha plane for the ease and cut down on size...... alpha plane sobs why ohhh why won't my alpha plane work?

I click box to add alpha plane, inside said box as in vue 6 I stuff a fairy, except I don't get a fairy, I get leafs lots of leafs, if I don't get leaves cough I get brick wall, no fairy, nada none, shes there if I double click my alpha plane box, but she aint there if render or anything else just leaves walls walls and leaves, and I feel a bit mad now you know that neither here nor there feeling

In vue 6 (which i am about to put back on) - I click alpha plane, I go to my pick, it auto puts the bmp in there is the fairy floating in mid air in a see through box.

Vue 7 I load the same do the same, there it is a wall floating solid in mid air :(

please can someone tell me what is wrong with my vue 7 or should I just give up after two days and put 6 back on, and or jump up and down on the vue 7 disk which is a wasted bday pressy :(

Thank you for your time and patience listening to my dyslexic ramblings of a mad woman

some pictures of what is going wrong might help to diagnose it.

[edit]
you are rendering an image out of Poser and loading it onto the alpha plane in Vue ?

I feel your pain, avalonbears.

I don't have a solution, but i also don't think this is typical behavior.  Am hoping someone here is better able to assist you.

don't jump up and down on the disc quite yet =D

hang in there...

ps... i love Vue 7, and once you get this figured out and can play around, I think you will, too - it took me a few weeks when i went from 6 to 7 to fully appreciate the upgrade.... =D

Editted to add:  Have you made sure you've applied the latest updates???

Rarer than a hairy egg and madder than a box of frogs....

Hello :)

Nono not rendering from poser to vue, rendered in poser then alpha'd into vue as you would do, done hundreds of these in vue 6 :) vue 7 hates me though, pfft I am starting to feel mutual hate.

I thaught ahhh ahhh yesterday I had done a vue 6, so I braught in the alpha plane
for an orchid I did yesterday, sigh this is what it did, a squirrels ear hole and a faded out
nice effect though but still faded out orchid, but as you see in the alpha there is
the squirrel.

disclaimer no animals were hurt during this process

Hope you can help, usually it shows a solid alpha box with just a brick wall in,
even the preset fishes come out purple brick texture with a fish outline, the box is never a
non solid, something is just not happening not sure what though.

Ok tried again, reloaded the scene, braught up the alpha box and chose a fish, one big fish, this is what I always get whatever I choose the one above is new problem.

Last pic to be done in Vue 6

first thing is to make sure you are running the latest update to Vue7.  You can get it from the e-on site.  That might help (I just tried it in Vue7 infinite and it works as expected provided there's an alpha for whatever it is I'm using)
from the image you've posted, I'd expect to see an image of a squirrel looking cute but not an orchid.  Where are the images you are trying to load coming from ?
Step by step if you'd be so kind.  There might be something in the process that's going wrong

I shall go and see e-on site first for updates :) better check this, using just a normal png really.

Could be a flower anything no background n all that, but i'll go check for updates and let you all know, this is hugely appreciated.

glad you got it working in the end - it's always good to check for updates if Vue is doing something weird.

I am glad you solved your problem. But keep in mind if you use many transparent objects (Alpha planes) keep an eye on the Max Trace level in Sub ray Options! Default is 5 but if you have problems with transparency use a higher value!
