I assume you're thinking of using it for encoding. For playback, you can use VLC player or get the utility "QuickTime Alternative".

Google uninstall quicktime and you'll see that getting it in may be easy but once it's slimy tentacles are embedded good luck :-)

What Im wanting to do is convert my images files BMP from a movie and convert them to QT with Q T pro, from there I can make good conversion to flash FLV for the web

No I wont touch the Google alterative thanks--hate tentacles anyway.I downloaded QT vers 7 and when Apple sort their act out Ill get the key--right now they want an ITunes Id from me(which I dont have)when i tell them I dont have one they say OK Itoons Password which I dont have either,so going slowly crazy.

...what he means is type "Uninstall Quicktime" into the search engine.  Quicktime is infinitely harder to get rid of than it is to install...

ain't that the truth.... Quicktime Alternative (nothing to do with Google - that was actually meant as 'use google to find' - it gets shortened to google this) is a lot easier to deal with...

I wasnt aware of this as I uninstalled the old version before installing Q T 7 for the pro version Key and as far as I can tell .no adverse effects.

I just eventually found a page that found my old password for Itunes and it went ok from there, thanks for the heads up though, and Ive bookmarked one of the sites with a fixin next time,

I took Itunes out 8 months ago, loads of problems, although I still get regular up date popups from them.

You know when a cottage industry has evolved around getting rid of/avoiding an application that something ain't right. 'Real Alternative' is a similar utility to eliminate the need to install the equally tenacious RealPlayer.
