Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 20 7:20 am)
I can't say about price... I'll definitely overshoot or undershoot, but if I were in the market for such a tool, I probably wouldn't pay more than $15 for it. And I'd probably wait until it's on special.
I use Blender3D for modelling, and can't afford an upgrade to PoserPro 2010 ... just to give you an idea. IOW, a battler.

Then I realised I'd done something similar already. Making the Becky outfit, in order to get the puffed shoulders shown on the left when V3's arms were down, I had to morph the mesh into the impossible shape shown on the right. Actually it wasn't that difficult, although I had to re-cut the mesh several times to get enough polygons into the right area. Once that was done, a magnet or two did the rest.
For things like joint correction morphs, I can see this tool being very useful. I look forward to it becoming available.
it;s a plug-in... add on to DAZ studio. You can find more information here..http://www.daz3d.com/i/shop/itemdetails/?item=8114 look under the "What;s included & Features" Section in the paragraph for "Morph Loader Pro" it is mentioned. There was a video showin how this tool worked but I don;t know how to find it at this time.
You can also probably find a contact on their site.
I hope that it is possible to release this tool at some point since, as I said it is easier (for me) to work in Poser but this is the one utility I find most useful in DAZ Studio...
Sounds like a useful tool. If you still need a PC tester I'd be very happy to take a look.

Hi there,
sorry, didnt see your postings.
I very much look for BETA testers now.
Please directly mail me at mail[at]colorcurvature.com.
Didnt watch the whole shirt video, but I think it is just the same feature.
But with my script you dont need a calculator ;)
Its 3-4 clicks for export and 2 clicks for import - done.
Cheers,
color
That script of yours sounds very exciting. So far, I've been doing this in DAZ Studio, and it's kind of annoying to have to go back and forth between D|S and Poser all the time.
How clever is your script at slaving morphs to the proper rotation channels when I have a complicated pose, say with the leg bent forward and also to the side?

Well actually this is not yet included. For the moment, I can only load a full body morph back into the figure. This works on any pose. It can undo any rotation or scale or whatever.
To automatically connect a morph to a specific joint/channel as a convenient dial would be something new. But actually I do not know whether such a thing is possible through the Poser API's. Maybe you have some buzzwords for me, what is the official term for such "morph enslavement", so I can scan the documentation ? But also, maybe there is some other tool existing already that can do just the chaining? It sounds like a simple operation, provided that the host program supports it...
I guess the DAZ tools can automatically assign morphs to channels?

Not quite! You can specify a control channel that the morph is slaved to and how strong the influence is in a configuration file, and then the tools generate all the necessary ERC code. That's quite useful when you make adjustments to your morphs because it reduces the amount of manual work for getting them back into the figure. Since you said you did the same thing as shown in the video, but with just a few clicks, I thought you had some way to guess that information from the pose. That would be very useful for making JCMs, and not terribly difficult to implement.
But if your tool does what you say it does, and does it well, that's already a huge step. I'd be quite happy to write the ERC code myself if your tool would just fill in the proper morph deltas for me.

Hi, I have an update.
After two weeks of beta, there is noticable progress.
The support for deformers has been improved.
We had some excellent results. The thing seemed to work on any kind of deformation, in any pose.
There remains a struggle with things that look like Poser Bugs (or I am too stupid).
For example, some body parts of some figures, show distortions if the morph target says the vertexes should NOT move at all. If the script says they should move like 0.00000001 instead of 0.0 , then it works. Maybe there is some memory leak or overflow, I do not know. Asked SmithMicro for assistance.
What I find interesting is: If I pick such a body part on the affect figures, fresh from library, and go to the menu to say "SpawnMorphTarget". When I dial the new morph to 100 (not working with the brush on it, just dial it), there is a massive distortion, but it looks different than the ones my script makes. One the other body parts, this does not happen. Does anybody know why SpawnMorph Target from the menu could show such a behaviour? I would assume It makes a clear, empty morph. Am I using it wrong?
On poser 2010, Freak 4's finger locks after the script ran. Again something I cannot explain yet.
Otherwise, everything worked :).

Hi, despite my reply to the other thread I thought I would start a new one here.
I made a poser script that allows to load full body morphs into posed figures.
That is, you export your posed figure from poser, welded or not, scaled, rotated, morphoformed, what you want. Then you deform this in external tool and load it back to poser.
Was thinking of putting it into the marketplace for a low price. Anyone can need it? What might a fair price be? Thanks
