Subject: Glitch with color picker window in Poser 2010

FaeMoon ( ) posted Fri, 09 April 2010 at 6:52 PM · edited Sun, 01 December 2024 at 5:22 PM

After upgrading my system to Windows 7 and and more RAM, I decided to take advantage of the March offer to get Poser 2010.  I've been rather pleased with it, except for one annoying glitch with the color picker when trying to set lights.

The window won't close after making the selection with the eyedropper and mousing away.   Instead, everything - the gray background, blue taskbar, the color of items in the window will be picked up instead as you mouse over them and suddenly the yellow that was picked to be the light color is now gray.. or blue.. or green or something that wasn't anything touched in the color picker.

The window will stay open for minutes at a time.

I've upgraded my drivers for my video board  9800 GTX Nvidea.

Is anyone else having this issue?  Any ideas on how to fix it?

I don't know if it is unique to your system, but I just tested it out on mine and no problems.  This is with 32 bit on XP.

BTW: it's PoserPro 2010.  You will give the impression that there is another version floating around that no one is aware of.

Somehow I doubt that I'll spread confusion, but I will try to use the trademarked name from now on.

Maybe it's something with the Windows 7 system and PoserPro 2010 then.  I'll try to contact Smith Micro next week when I have another day off.   This is quite annoying in that it makes setting lights far harder than it has to be.

I'm on Mac OS X, but I've also found the colour picker to be a bit erratic in its behaviour. Often it does not accept my mouse click.

If the colour is changing in the colour picker while you move the mouse around, it's still waiting for you to click a selected colour - even though you probably did. When this happens to me, I just click again (usually only once, but occasionally 2 or 3 times) until it accepts it and closes the colour picker window.

But it's probably not that easy.

I'm on Windows XP 64 bit with Poser Pro 2010. Same problem. But I had that before with Poser 7 and Poser Pro too. It's annoying and I'm wondering why it's not dealt with.

aha.. so I'm not the only one.

I have clicked more than once.  Sometimes a dozen times before it finally accepts the color.  It's very frustrating when it closes out and I have a dark blue light though  when I had picked another color.. or so I thought.

No,no....I had it too. I switched back to PP and all is well.

What do you mean, switched to PP?

I wondered that. My guess was Poser Pro.
