Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 27 2:10 pm)
You may find that the OBJ2CR2 file converter is all that you need. It will take a clothing model, grouped, ungrouped, incorrectly grouped, it does not matter, and convert it into conforming clothing.

So far, grouping things hasn't been the biggest problem. For instance the socks I made all grouped to the shin correctly, however, when I go to conform the figure it gets all out of whack. The same with the coat I made. Everything was grouped pretty much as it should have been except that when I went to move the figure tears developed in the clothing. Part of the problem looks like it might have to do with the figure not being "zeroed" correclty. Does your OBJ2CR2 program solve this?

As a satisfied user, I can confirm that OBJ2CR2 does what it says on the tin. I'd recommend letting it do the process for you even if you do have grouping sorted out. You'll end up with a CR2 which will require joint parameter tweaking at most, and maybe not even that. It should solve your problems.
Did my shorts with them.
Maybe you can add some screenshots. Breaking in clothes sounds like a welding issue. And other things might be JP related. JP=Joint Parameters.

I don't know what welding or Joint Parameters are so I don't know how to fix such problems. That's why I'm simply looking for someone who is interested in taking pre existing models and creating Poser figures with them. If I can find someone like that I will be happy for now until I can get a better grasp of clothes making myself.
I'm willing to split credit for the props. I don't expect anyone to do me any favors but if there is someone out there who thinks they would actually enjoy creating clothes out of models someone else makes then I have an opportunity for them to put their skills to some use. They get an opportunity to use their artistic skills to play around with some 3D models and I get an outlet to foster my talents for 3D modeling.
Any takers?

OK. I bought this OBJ2CR2 thingy. I sent an e-mail to get it registered, however, browsing through some of the files and what not I don't see where Mike4 is supported. Which template do you use for Mike 4?

Be sure to follow the link in the documentation to pick up the support files for any additional figures.

You'll see M4 among them.

I apologize if this isn't the right forum to post this...
I've been trying to do everything myself, create a clothing model in Wings3D, UV Map it, import into Poser and rig it in Poser to conform to Mike 4.
Creating the clothing in Wings3D and UV Mapping it has gotten easier for me, however, creating conforming clothing in Poser still elludes my capabilities. I just can't seem to get clothing to conform correclty to Michael 4 using Poser. I'm at my wits end.
So...I am wondering if there is anyone out there who would like to offer their services to help me with the process of creating conforming clothing in Poser. Is there anyone out there who enjoys taking existing 3D models and turning them into conforming clothing? I'm looking for an artist to partner with who can take 3D clothing models I create and turn them into conforming figures for Mike 4 in Poser. This partnership would last, at the very least, until I can figure out how to do conforming clothes correclty in Poser for myself.
The models I am creating I would like to upload to the "Freestuff" area here at Renderosity. Credit will be split 50/50 between myself and my partner who can turn the models into conforming figures. Should I decide to sell anything created I will split the proceeds 50/50 with whomever is willing to partner with me. Likewise if my partner decides to sell anything created from my models I would expect to receive a 50/50 split. I will also welcome any critiques, suggestions for improvement of my models from my partner. Ideally I would like to have a productive relationship with someone here in which together we could produce decent quality Poser props and figures. Ideally I would ulitimately like to become good enough at creating 3D models to where my partner and I could sell them here at Renderosity.
I am still learning the tricks of the 3D modeling trade. If there are any limitations to the quality of my models I will acknowledge them on my part not on the person who converts them to conforming clothing. My average output varies. I have productive weeks in which I may turn out a couple projects in one week or I may have less productive weeks where it may be a month before I turn out something to upload.
This partnership does not preclude other partnerships or selling your own works on your part. All I'm asking is for someone to help me with my products. If you already have your own product store or are partnered with someone else, that is fine by me. I obviously don't expect any tie in with your own work. I'm only asking for help with mine.
Generally I like to create military props and clothing. Computer wargaming is a hobby of mine and I like ot create things like headwear, weapons, and clothing for Mike 4 in order to mod the graphics of Games I play. Most notably I like to create graphics for Sid Meier's Civilization III. However, I also like to share my creations with the Renderosity community in general.
If you are interested in partnering with me in the production of Poser products, please e-mail me at:
