Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 03 1:41 pm)
I know this is impossible, but I've never looked at Facebook and I need info - about Facebook. I just went over there and I only see one picture. Are there more if you have an account? The newsletter says to get to know Miki on her Facebook page, but all it is is one pic of her and a list of "friends".
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
Yeah, I posted about this too in another thread. Not super excited and expecting it to be a complete failure like Miki 1+2 were.
I'd like to be wrong though...
I also find it highly annoying that instead of their own promo page they put it on twitter and facebook. I find that kind of cheap and pretty silly in a web community full of artists and web designers.
Aha. Guess I ain't logging in then.
No matter - I just wanted to see what the other pics were, if Carodan did them.
I have Miki 3.

I only have 2 things to say about this...
Carodan is a-freaking-mazing.
Glee? Really? facepalm
Ok, so I have more, but Carodan's renders sold me on the figure. Once I'm back at full speed, I want :P (I love Miki 1 & 2, but don't use them often enough.)

Also, while her facebook profile lists some pretty cool musical and reading tastes, there's at least one lie I spot.
No one reads software manuals, let alone likes them. ;)

She's very nice, except for the forehead-shades of Larry Fine...(gosh I'm mean!)
I will say that the CP newsletter is improved.
Jen,
Good to see you hanging in there. Take Care!

Laurie
You got that right.
That's the viral site. But hey you like it. Don't try to make others feel low because they don't.
I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to be mean. I meant since it's Facebook you probably wouldn't go there...just like I said. I didn't mean anything nasty by it. I have an account there, but you could probably count on less than all of my fingers the times I visited it last year ;o). When you referred to the 'viral' site, I honestly thought you meant CP...lmao.
Laurie
OK. It's that I read about a lot of people getting virus's off of those sites. It does not matter if they are a bit slow on the protection thing but the fact that they get them from there.
I would rather wait till she is released and see what others post and have to say about the rigging.
A good question at DAZ was asked. Is she rigged with P8 rigging. That would cut the sales a bit I would think.
Not sexy enough. She almost looks human though. Almost. James looked close to human as far as Poser figures go.

Oh, that's right. There's a dirth of sexy figures available for Poser ...lol. ;o)
I think she's quite cute. I guess Vicky will still continue to reign supreme in the big boobed, thick-lipped, tiny nose department. It's what she does best. Not like Miki will get much support anyway cause, well, she ain't Vicky. Just ask Mike...
I'm sorry, and I don't mean to be ignorant, but when I hear things like "not sexy enough" it makes my brain go numb...why does every 3D figure have to be knock-down, drag-out sexy? How many sexy people do you see walking down the street? Not many I'd wager...lol. Sexy is totally subjective anyway... Let Vicky keep the temple and allow another figure to fill the "less sexy" role...

Quote - For $10, why not.
Yeah, if you can find something to spend it on! I finally got to spend the $5 birthday coupon I got in February when I noticed that Cyllan had done some more G2 Textures for Koji & Kelvin! (I probably should have waited for the $10 coupon for one of them, but I figure I can use it to get Miki 3 when she comes out instead.) My answer to most of the "What do you want to see questions" was, as always, more content support for the figures that come with Poser or are made by CP.

...as in whole new mesh? The curriousity lobe of my brain just woke up.
I can haz wire-frame render?
My brain is just a toy box filled with weird things
It's a whole new mesh yes but for now I've culled my images. I'd rather not cut the rug out from whatever plans marketing has for her. She's a great figure - I hope to revisit her for more morphs down the road. I started the rig but a co-worker finished/perfected it for me. So everything about her is new.

I meant as far as figures coming from Smith Micro. I wish out-of-the-box Poser figures were as good as 3rd-party figures that are made for Poser. The G2 figures were all just meh.
Anyway, I'm using the wrong word. I didn't mean sexy as in sex doll or toy or object. Easy on the eyes is what I meant.
At least she isn't a figure with a 12 year-old head stuck on an 18 year-old body I see bannered across Renderosity all the time. They don't even look human.

:) That's actually pretty awesome, Teyon.

I hate to be put in this Facebook,Twitter stuff .I don't want to "add Miki to my friends" .Poser related 3d sites are the only reason why I am connected to the internet.I don't care for social networks. Why not some previews on CP ,a press release and add some comments - ready .I hope I won't need an I-Phone to download Miki 3 .Sure- "there is an app for this"
I like the G2 figures as well, except the arms and shoulders are sometimes hard to pose.
Is the Survey a Facebook-only thing?.

"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."I wish I could understand why people like the G2 figures and the old Miki figures. Miki has a very expressive face, but bends so horribly that I find it completely unusable. Combine that with the level of content and versatility that V3/V4 has, and there's no comparison for me. I found Sydney to just be completely worthless because it bends as badly as Miki, has a terribly un-versatile set of morphs, and has zero content to use with it.
But I want to understand why people like Miki/G2 figures because maybe I'm missing something, or haven't tried something that could make me like the figures. So if people could explain it to me, that would be awesome. I never like being close minded to new ideas...
There are far more specific reasons than that. Those are the reasons I'm looking for.
I'm not saying there's something wrong with people liking those figures. I just want to understand why because to me it doesn't make any sense. But just because it doesn't make sense to me, doesn't mean there aren't good reasons to like the figures.
I loved Miki 1 (passed on Miki 2). Yeah, her joints could have been better, but for close up portrait work, she was the best. You couldn't get a more natural looking smile or expression than Miki :o). I assume that people like the figures they do for different reasons: like I said, I liked Miki because of her expressive face. There's been nothing like it before or since. You still can't even get V4 to smile like that.

you've already answered yourself. it makes no sense to you.
it makes no sense to me how anyone could not like Doctor Who or eat that foul muck peanut butter.
it really is that simple.
edit:
I like Sydney because's she's attractive, and despite her awful elbows. I can convert clothes to her with XD (though it works better if it's not V4 clothes... sigh)
Miki's face really doesn't do it for me and I've rarely seen it changed enough to something nice (Suzu (sp?) is pretty good)
When I got P7 and Sydney I dropped Miki basically
It's not the tool used, it's the tool using it

Right there is a very BIG reason. A lot of people LOVE Miki's Expressive face! Yeah, she's not the best bender around, but for closeup dolls with fantastic expressions and not just your typical bland Vicky sly smile, she is still the best.
