Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 28 11:20 am)
Kill the process and then reboot. Then go into the temp folder Poser uses and delete anything ginormous in there taking up room (150MB TMP files for example). Then just open Poser and then close it so that Poser can reset itself and GUI and all. Then open Poser again and try loading your project. By then your hard drive will have cleared out any swapfile (virtual RAM) space that was filling your drive from the crash.

More like 40 minutes now. Rebooting as you suggested.
I have a script that deletes all temp files - might run CrapCleaner too, for good measure.
Thanks for all your input - the sytem had crashed, before, so I was wondering if the index for the libraries had been corrupted or something.
ETA: All I was doing was trying to just load PP2010... no project, just the programme.

BTW, that sorted it... thank you. PP back at the stand...

I've been sitting here searching the forum posts trying to figure out why PoserPro 2010 is still chugging after 20+ minutes trying to load after a major hang-up/crash. It seems like it might be rebuilding indexes or something, but I have no idea. The logo is still up and you can see the faint outline of the (I think!) Libraries dialogue, so I'm assuming that's what it's doing. And the HD light is bright-red.
Should I let it finish?
