I'm a bit of a newbie, as you can tell i know very little of Daz and 3D in general.

any help would be greatly appeciated.

you can go to your daz account and reset the download in your download history

kerrieanne ( ) posted Fri, 17 September 2010 at 6:32 AM

i was told it wont work in daz 3 unless i save it in daz 2 first :(

but thanks for the reply :D

i have both daz versions on my pc and anything that worked in daz 2 works in daz3 without a problem except plugins. most of the plugins have been updated for daz3 already but the forest should work no problem you just can't go from daz3 to daz2 to open a scene or anything like that but daz2 to daz 3 works just fine

The older fairy forest free content doesn't work in DS3, you need DS2.3 to update the data folder contents before DS3 can use it.
Both Stonemason & Maclean's early stuff also has similar problems in DS3.1

Only way to get a copy of DS2 now is to contact DAZ support and hope they give you a copy.

thanks for reply.

after 3 hours of tinkering i managed to do it.

i renamed the folder from Studio to Daz Studio 3 then cut and pasted into the same folder as the D/S3's Studio folder works too :D

Thank you for all your help.

i've got intouch with daz for the daz2 installer (fingers crossed).

well just wait and see :)

just go to daz3d.com >>> my account>>> itemized download history then scroll down to your daz studio 2.x listing and click reset at the end of the line it is on and you'll have your download reset notice in your email within a few minutes to a cpl hours and you can get your daz studio 2.x without having to wait for a reply from daz3d.com staff

kerrieanne ( ) posted Fri, 17 September 2010 at 3:21 PM

it's only gives me the daz base all no daz 2 i'm afraid.

TheHalfdragon ( ) posted Fri, 17 September 2010 at 4:36 PM

that's weird since you probably have the serial code for it in your available serial codes it should be in your dl history unless you got it from Cnet then you would have to try getting it there again by lookin for older versions

kerrieanne ( ) posted Fri, 17 September 2010 at 5:37 PM

I don't think they keep the older ones.

Currently the only way to get DS2.x is to ask Customer support for it (which I believe has worked for at least some people). The reset on items in your order history always gets you the latest version (it will get you the DS2 version of plugins, and shaders come with multi-installers for DS2, DS3 32 and Ds3 64 anyway).
