DAZ|Studio F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 02 6:48 pm)
There are enough that do work in Daz (and earlier versions of Poser) ...I don't think I'm going to miss Miki 3 at all. However...I'm sure someone will "fix" it if for nothing else than to boost sales.

I had Miki2 free on a CD from some 3D computer magazine. I never installed her. So I'm not too fussed about Miki3 not working in Daz Studio.
Anyhoot I think anyone putting a new female model on the market is brave to compete with Vicky4, her sisters Aiko, Stephanie, and SheFreak, and her many morphs. Not to mention her hunderds of clothes, hair styles, shoes, fetish impliments (blush), etc.
I think the Poser community will be more pissed off that Miki3 isn't compatable with previous versions of Poser. I believe there are still many with early versions of Poser. Not everyone can afford to continuously upgrade. Anyhoot not a wise idea to piss off your target market.
Miki 2 was less of a resource hog than Vicki 3 or 4, she had fewer facail morphs to manage but you could command a huge variety of expressions. Her toes were jointed and could conform to shoes much better, and allowed much more precision in posing and were more realistic than V3 and V4's, but like V3 and V4 you could additionally pose them as a whole as well to save time. She has options V3 and V4 don't have and it also breaks up the monotony of using V3 and V4 over and over in scenes. Miki2 had a neck seam issue that was corrected for D|S by a group of talented users over at the Daz forums, and some additional 3rd party options for her expanded the functionality of Studio because of the user base who was interested in using her (like the ability to inject a PMD file)
But yea, I'm sure its going to annoy the Poser 7 users more who are using software that's only 4 years old when they're told, it's not going to work, you need to upgrade to a questionably less stable piece of software that's going to cost you between $150 and $250 to do so.
To bad, it was not created for the new poser version 2012
think i'll wait for Miki 4 :d
i'll have enough, of all that old rigging technology!
opensource programs that are free, are getting better then poser pro 500$ program.
poser is old, but they don't get it at smith micro!
Daz have seen it, and is working on studio 4 with big improvements.
if poser do not like to change (evoluate to new technology rigging, physics, animate...), it is dead program very very soon.

Miki 3 has been released for Poser 2010 and Poser 8

Excited as I was I came across this little gem:
Compatibility: Due to her multiple sphere and capsule falloff zone rigging, Miki 3 is only compatible with Poser 8 and Poser Pro 2010. She is not compatible with previous versions of Poser or with DAZ Studio.
Does anoyone else suddenly feel a little jaded?
