Subject: Free Texturing Helper

karanta ( ) posted Thu, 09 December 2010 at 3:55 AM · edited Mon, 17 February 2025 at 5:10 PM

Included in this set is one Adobe Photoshop file with layers for all material zones for Mavka's Bathing Suit.

I'm not sure if this is something people would be interested in. But I think it makes texturing easier.

You need to have Photoshop to work with this file or an other graphic application which is capable to work with psd files.

Each material zone of the bathing suit is on a transparent layer. Some basic tips are also included on one layer.

This file can be used for making freestuff and / or commercial products.

Please give some feedback if this is useful for you and if this is something you would like to have more often for the clothes I make.

For using this file, you need to have Mavka's Bathingsuit

I'm getting a "page not found" error for the bathing suit.

Hm... maybe there is a mistake in the URL. I can not edit the first posting any more so here is the link to the bathing suit again.

Really strange..the first link adds "mod/forumpro" to the middle of the link and the second one doesn't. (even tho it isn't showing here)  The second one works tho.

Ok - so obviously nearly nobody is interested in having such helper files.

I'm glad that I asked here, at Facebook and ShareCG before I invested a lot of time to make more of these files.

I think its mostly because a lot of people really don't want to have to purchase the bathing suit to find out about the texturing helper files.

I used the bathing suit because so many people bought it.

I don't think I have something in my shop everybody has and can try ;) And of course I don't think somebody should or will buy the bathing suit just to try out how the psd file would help with texturing.

But I thought people who are making textures (no matter if for free or for sale) would be able by viewing the example on the screenshot if this is something which is helpful or not.

This was meant as an example. I would have done such helper files for my clothes for V4, G2 people, NearMe, Miki and so on.

But it's no problem :) Maybe it was just a silly idea from me.

I think this is a great idea! I've been dabbling in texturing, but get so frustrated becasue it's too tedious for me. I find it impossible to match up the fabric patterns to make things like a waist band, or border, on a flat pattern. So I give up.

I'm definitely going to buy the suit so I can try this out.

Thanks for your feedback Acadia :)

But you don't need to buy the suit just to try the helper file.

If you have something else from me and want to have such a helper file for it, just let me know and as soon as I have a bit free time I'll make the psd file and upload it to my freestuff.
