Subject: How do I move a frame from one clip to another?

MikeMoss ( ) posted Mon, 21 March 2011 at 11:51 AM · edited Tue, 05 November 2024 at 6:33 AM

Hi

When I do a long video I always have to make sure that the last frame of one clip matches the first frame of the next.

I do this by saving the first completed clip then saving it again under a new name i.e. myfilm clip 02, etc. then I move that clip to the start of the video and delete the rest of the frames. I create the next sequence starting from there.

But sometimes something gets changed and when I'm done working on it the frames don't match exactly.

I have a situation like that right now.

I have a lead in sequence that's about 300 frames leading into a 3400 frame sequence that has lip syc etc.

Some how the expression of the figure doesn't exactly match up now that i'm finshed with both of the clips. Probebly because of the lip syncing with Mimic.

Now my question...

Is there some way that I can save the frame from the start of clip 1 and move it to the end of clip 2 so that the clips will match exactly?

I haven't been able to figure out a way to do this.

If you shoot a mime, do you need a silencer?

You could try saving a pose file, and then load it at the frame required.

Hi

I think I have tried that but I'll take another look at it.

I need to move everything, characters props lighting etc so that all the settings stay the same in the frame.

How do other people do clips that have to match end to end.

The 3400 frame clip is the longest I've done and I'm having trouble creating the AVI file from it at 1200 by 900 ppi.

Having the voice track on it seems to cause problems.

I finally ended up doing it 850 frames at a time and that seems to be working OK.

The way I do it is to go to the last frame in the antimation, then I go to edit / memorize/all.

Then go to the animation first frame, go back to the edit / restore/all.

delete all frames after frame1 and begin from there.

hope this is clear.

Hi

That's the way I start a connected clip too.

The situation I have now is that I have a two complete clips that are supposed to fit together but the first frame in the second clip, (do to lip sycing and ajustments) no longer matches the last frame in the first clip exactly.

I'm looking for a way to move the first frame of the second clip to the end of the first clip.

Right now i'm using a crossover transition to cover up the jump but I'd like to elininate it all together.

I seems like there should be a way to save a whole frame and move it but I haven't found one.

make sure that last frame of your first clip has a keyframe (KF) set on all animated actors and their parameters.

When removing whole preceding part of the clip, parameters' values without KF may change (if you already set KF for everything in last frame then I don't know)
