Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 25 12:38 pm)
Try a little bit of graduated diagnostics to help us help.
1 Save a simple pz3 in each version on the same drive as Poser then try to open in the version it was created with.
2 Try to open a pz3 with a higher version.
3 Try to open with a previous version.
4 Repeat with more complicated scenes and on the external drive
Poser 11 , 180Gb in 8 Runtimes, PaintShop Pro 9
Windows 7 64 bit, Avast AV, Comodo Firewall
Intel Q9550 Quad Core cpu, 16Gb RAM, 250Gb + 250Gb +160Gb HD, GeForce GTX 1060
Well, some have it, and others do not.
Some people have a problem when:
Starting Poser by douple clicking on a pz3 file.
Solution was to first open Poser, then import scene-document.
Double clicking a pz3, or right click on a pz3, and select open with a version of Poser coud cause a crash.
If you are having, or see this, report very detailed to SM.
Some people do have this, some do not.
Poser 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7,
P8 and PPro2010, P9 and PP2012, P10 and PP2014 Game

I'm no expert, but generally speaking when I have a similar difficulty, I need to clean up my registry and defrag it with the external drive on. There are a number of freeware programs that you can use for it. Don't have any other programs running. The link below has two freeware programs I use, reboot afterwards.
If that does't fix your problem, try a new install. I keep my installation file service releases in a folder on my external drive, along with my serial numbers. That way, I'm not constantly trying to look for them in my desk, or needing to redownload things. Another thing that might be helpful is that when you do the installation to not open the program until you've installed all service releases and patches. Contact Smith Micro if there's problems with your serial number.
I hope it helps.

I'm using Poser 7, 8 and PoserPro and I have a problem using pz3 files. All the time I try to render a saved pz3 all the versions are crashing. PoserPro is crashing right after opening the file...I have an external harddrive where I'm saving my pz3's and where I have my Runtime installed.
Any ideas?
I have an Intel Core Quad2 cpu, RAM 4GB, 32Bit
