Subject: Poser 2010 v3 skin application

Hello all,

I have Poser 2010 as well as DAZ studio's v3(and v4), but have an older skin for v3 that I want to use that follows this seam guide:

http://www-cache.daz3d.com/store/item_file/1098/Seam_2.html

However, I cannot seem to apply it correctly using Poser 2010's material room. It's a custom made skin by a buddy of mine that is pretty sweet, so any help would be great!

Maps are character specific. You attach the color maps to the diffuse node of the corresponding body part.

You say that you are unable to apply the texture.  For which character, V3 or V4?  And how are you applying it?  Medzinatar gave you a simple solution and this method has not changed throughout all the current Poser versions.  Describe your workflow a little bit more thoroughly.

What is the problem? Does the skin not fit, do features not align, or do the seams show? Something else?

Well I'm using the v4 to v3 conversion and then trying to apply a v3 texture through the Poser 2010 "Materials" window, but the v3 texture follows the seam guide I mentioned before, which fits most everything into one image, whereas the v4 model's materials are multiple images (tongue, torso, head, etc).

I can apply it, it just does not fit at all.

If you mean the V4_V3 figure, that puts a V4 head on V3 body so you can put on V3 clothes.  It does not allow you to use V3 texture maps.

If you are talking about a texture conversion you acquired somewhere, tell us about that and maybe can be worked out.

Just go get the real V3 at Daz. She is still free I think but the morphs are pay-for. V3RR has built-in morphs and is also free, or was when I last looked.

DAZ sells the Texture Convertor 2.  It has a plugin that will convert V4 textures for use on V3 and V3 textures for use on V4.

Note: the app does not come with the plugins unless you buy the bundle.  If you just buy the app, it won't really do anything so read the product page carefully.

The V4 to V3 figure accepts V4 head morphs and uses V4 textures.  The body has V3 rigging and body shape so you can use your V3 clothing out of the box.  The body does not accept the V3 body morphs.

If you are having trouble with the V4 to V3 figure, make sure you run the bat file for the V4 to V3 figure found in the !DAZ folder inside the library folder of wherever you installed V4.
