Lights? ray-traced? IDL?

Increase the irradiance cache render setting.

I used 3 ininite lights, 1 with shadow map and other 2 don't have shadow. I am using poser pro the version b4 P8, don't got IDL. I also try IBL in other test and still got this ugly AO

It dosen't look like shadow but looks like dust on table that haven't clean for 3 years:b_sweat:

When asking for help, always state which Poser version and which SR.

This looks like Poser 8 without the updates. If so you are running buggy code. Stay up to date. Poser 8 is at SR3, SR3.1 if you're German.

Thanks BB, I say in posts b4, I am using poserpro, that is the version after P7 and before P8.

But I can't remember those numbers (something point something....). :b_uncertain:

I think I need to findout if it needs those SR.

Thankks again.  :b_smile:

Sorry I missed that. Any words near giant emoticons become invisible to me. I just see the face.

The original Poser Pro has irradiance cache settings in the render settings.  As BB, stated, increase it.

Raytraced shadows or deep shadow maps?

Also try lowering your minimum shading rate.

it looks the AO node is attached to the object surface.

i thought it was supposed to attach to the light?

and the light type should be set to IBL, so the light knows what direction to make the shadow fall?

The AO node is for surfaces, MLP. I don't feel like writing why you'd use it. I'm assuming for the sake of simplicity that the OP is doing this for a reason. He didn't ask for advice on when to use the AO node.

But you're right, the better choice if you want AO is to just enable it on IBL lights.
