i like it..the yellow gold hue..rather like a dirty blast from the past.
how about adding a boat of people..looking towards the ruins? it would make it more meaningful than just an empty landscape of silence.
or..to make it really humourous.. some people sitting down on th ruins having british high tea..with not a thought of it being odd. you'll have to push your camera closer to the ruins...though.
it needs that little push..a focal point, a story..
right now..it's just a backdrop to a story waiting to happen. create that story...
Thanks Much for the suggestions..
I really like the idea of people having high tea, very funny.. Unfortunately I don't have the experience with Poser or DAZ figures to accomplish it.

I like the idea of the boat with crew. May I suggest the camera operator actually being on board the boat, so that only the bows and one or two crew members are visible in the foreground?
Love the colours and the sombre feel to the picture.

No Clay.. Like a dummy I only bought the PLE version. But I did add some vines & rocks to it last night. I'll post a WIP image later.
UVDAN.. I actually did think about putting a plane dropping a bomb in the image but decided that wouldn't work with the fantasy style atmosphere.

Not so much a sky answer but placing the sun low on the horizon either right or left of the camera adds remarkably to a scenes appeal. Experiment with the camera view point a lot also. Look for view points that differ from just a typical snapshot photo. Sometimes you will get a scene that is totally different than what you expected in a good way. These are things that us Poser/DS deficient folks can try to enrich a render.
Not sure I like it but it was fun..

Thanks!!!!!! About crashes, we are all plagued with the problem to one extent or another with B7. One thing I have learned is "wait". B7 doesn't like to be hurried. Say you change a setting and the preview window starts to update... wait. Wait for it to finish before making another change. It is an aggravation but it has reduced the crashes for me. It is not a complete cure but it helps. Save often.
Also, a time saver in the wait game is if you are using soft shadow settings (that is a drag on the render engine big time), turn off the soft shadows as you continue to work on the scene. Then when you are ready, turn it back on for your final test renders.
Again, thanks for the weeds.
Looks nice. I like those weeds in the water. Anyway I have a couple of tuts you might want to look at one could help the lighting in this image, the other is based on volumetric clouds

I think the picture could do with some framing from foliage in the foreground
Take a look at this image to see what I mean

Quote - I've been having lots of trouble with Bryce crashing so not much has changed. Moved the sun a little & thinned out the haze. Then I gave up & finished it with some brightening up in Photoshop.
Not sure I like it but it was fun..
sorry imma lil late but heres a couple ideas......go look at www.davegh.com for some cool free textures to use on the liths.........you can also use some shafts of light coming from the sun direction....someone mentioned trees and such but is it that they cannot be used or just you dont have any? IF you can import could also add a few birds in flight circling above.
Looking good tho
:)

Thanks Much for the link scottl. Lots of very nice textures that I can use there.
I added some of the vines from the background for a frame (they're done with the ivy generater) & then added some coleus for a little bit of color. I have no idea why the ivy leaf detail is missing but since I didn't really mean this to be realistic I just left them the way they rendered.
Thanks Much for all the suggestions..

I've been trying to figure out how to do decent skies since I got Bryce. Mine never seem to look like the tutorials I've used.
