Subject: DAZ giving away V5 free on 3D World

DustRider ( ) posted Fri, 10 February 2012 at 10:54 AM · edited Wed, 06 November 2024 at 8:49 PM

For anyone using DS4 who wants V5 for Genesis, it's free on the March issue, #153 of 3D World magazine.

DAZ is also offering a 20% discount on the V5 Starter and the V5 Pro bundles with a cuopon code from 3D World (link below). V5 adds a lot of extra morphs to Genesis and gives you a lot more flexibility for creating your own unique character. The coupon code works for anyone, not just 3D World customers.

I thought I'd post this here in case you hadn't seen it elsewhere and you would like to take advantage of one of these offers.

Hmmm - I'll have to peruse my local B&N store and see if they carry it. I just started with DAZ4 Pro (how can you possibly beat the price at present?). Been using Poser for a couple years, but now I've got the best of both worlds...

Welcome aboard! DS4 Pro really is an impressive piece of software, it's different than Poser, but with Genesis it can be a blast to use!

The March issue of 3D World may not be in the US yet, it comes out in the UK about a month before it hits the US. I started hearing about it 2 ,,, maybe 3 weeks ago. I thought I'd give everyone a heads up because V5 adds a lot of morphs to Genesis. I think V5 is about $28 dollars for PC members at DAZ, so you can save a few dollars with the magazine.

My favorite app is Carrara, but I've been playing with Genesis in DS4 since Sept. and I really enjoy it (Genesis works well in the Carrara betta now, but it's still easier to find the right morphs in DS4). I'm saving for PP 2012 - will be able to get it very soon :)

All three applications have their strong points, I'd hate to have to be limited to only one.

Love your sig. line - one of my favorite sayings!!!

I took a look at the mag's website - it looks like there's some good stuff in there besides the disc... Tutorials and such. I'm always up for learning more about all this CG stuff - I'm probably going to make my head explode.. Right now - in addition to PP 2012, I'm mucking around with Bryce 7 (just installed Pro version thanks to DAZ) and Vue 9 (soon 10), and I'll be trying to learn some modeling with Hexagon and Wings 3D.

I bought Poser 8 back in '09 - now I'm an incurable CG addict.... :-P Just can't get enough!

Anyway, thanks for the heads-up! :-D

I think mine already exploded, and my grey matter is just gray mush now!! I Started in 3D with P3/P4 Pro, Cinema 4D (V6), and Carrara Studio V2. I got Vue Esprit 8 about 9 months ago, and have 10 Complete now (for an avocational interest), but haven't dug very deep into it yet.

I like Hex for modeling, it's pretty easy to learn and use. I couldn't keep up with the upgrade prices of Cinema 4D, which is OK because I enjoy Carrara and it has a great render engine. If there was just another 10 hours in the day, I could actually do about half of what I'd like to do.

Oh ... really like your gallery, the Girls from TNA series is great!! Of course I'm a fan of The Girl, so I'm a bit partial.

I attached the link to my gallery if your interested - I have a few renders of G4.

Good luck and enjoy DS4!!

I finally got this issue over the weekend; not only does it have V5 for free but also has some other really interesting articles.  So now I have V5 and she has nothing to wear--I'll have to see what I can come up with.

I'll have to peruse my local B&N this weekend..... Now that I've got all the other DAZ goodies, I've gotta get V5! LOL! Looks like lots of other cool stuff in there, as well.

Hey, DustRider... I just put up 18 new hair colors for G4 in the freebies area - since you're another fan of hers, thought you might like to play a bit! :-D
