Hello,          I would like to be able to animate a Robot figure recently downloaded.

but first it needs to be rigged.

Can this be done using Autorig or Joint editer  or am I in the realms of sheer fantasy

again lol?

Thanks for any advice.

Optionally, group it with the Polygon group editor and export as OBJ, with Use existing selected under the group options.

Import into the Figure Setup pane and set up the hierarchy. Create figure.

Use Joint editor to set bone positoons (having grouped the OBJ will help their starting positions) and the Polygon Seelction and Weight Painting tools to adjust the bends (if it's the kind of robot with visible joints you will lregely be filling the weight maps with a value of 1 or 0, so most of the work wil be selecting).

Draft docs are here http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/creating_content/start
