Subject: In memory of France (aka Francemi)

Alisa ( ) posted Thu, 05 April 2012 at 5:54 PM · edited Thu, 01 August 2024 at 4:54 PM

The KCTC family is sad to report that our dear friend and the heart of our group, France (also known as Francemi), has peacefully passed away, at the far too young age of 58,  after a week in the hospital after undergoing emergency open heart surgery.  Her family was with her.

Our dear friend is gone, but she is at peace. She will be dearly missed by her family, her friends, and the entire graphics community who benefited from her generosity in so many ways for so many years.  She will live on through our memories and the many many people she helped and taught and touched, as well as the huge number of 3d freebies she created.

Cheers,
Alisa

I feel so empty. This is such a sad passage. I just looked through her gallery and her art was amazing.
So young and so loved by many. My condolences to the family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and to those who did not, she was a very wonderful and giving person who you all would have liked to have called a friend.

The dust settled, thinking "what a fine home, at least for now" not realizing that doom would soon be coming in the form of a vacuum cleaner.

Again, thank you on behalf of KCTC and France's family.  I'll be gathering these posts in a pdf file to send to her wife, and I know they will be appreciated by all her family.  I suspect many of them don't realize the extent of the legacy that France is leaving, though I know that they all knew of her artistic talent.  She was always creating adorable images for them, which she often shared with us.

Those of us at KCTC, who communicated with France practically on a daily basis, can't express how much this outpouring of love for our friend means to us. We miss her so much.

KCTC wants to let you all know that we, as a group, will continue to host the 3d graphic freebie sites that France hosted and we will of course, keep people updated when new items are added:

OMG! I'm speachless. I haven't been on the forums much and just saw this!

She was such a lovely woman. When I first came to these forums as a complete poser newbie, she was so helpful to me. I've never met her, but just the same I considered her to be a good friend.  My heart is so very sad :(

My condolences to her family and friends.

Cam a mod or admin add this to the Memorials area?

Thanks, that would be very nice.  Feel free to send me a site mail if there are questions or if her friends at KCTC can help in setting things up.

She has a huge gallery here at Renderosity...

Her funeral is Friday - the 13th, which France's sense of humor would definitely have appreciated.  Her unexpected passing has left a huge hole in many hearts and the graphics community.  It's been a tough few weeks for her friends and I know for her family.  We miss her so much...

Renderosity has just put up a memorial page here - thank you!:

All of the sites hosted by francemi.net are now hosted by those of us at KCTC

The main link is www.francemi.net

There's a link there to France's sharecg site, as well as to the hosted sites - KCTC Freebies, Trumarcar's Treasurechest, Toyyaris Designs, EnaR's Kommoden, 3DSara Creations (a mirror site), and LittleDragon's site

Just would like to add my voice to that of Fran's.

I myself am just now seeing this, and was saddened to learn of Francemi's passing on.

If I may, I would like to add that not only is this a sad event for our community, it was truly an honor to have known Francemi for the brief time, and brief few interactions with her I'd had over the years.

I would also like to extend, my thoughts, prayers and condolence's to her family as well.
