Subject: Saved Character Completely Changed When Reloaded

flibbits ( ) posted Wed, 18 April 2012 at 12:29 AM · edited Sat, 21 September 2024 at 10:45 AM

Spent a few hours on Tuesday dialing a M$ character that included some character morphs.

Saved it, reloaded it, worked on some tweaks, but didn't save those.

Closed Poser.

Later started Poser, reloaded the saved scene and character, only to find it was changed.  Proved it by comparing a render of the re-loaded character to an earlier render.

The chin was pushed up into the face, and into the neck.  None of the dial changes for chin resolved it.  The eyes changed shape and tilt.  There are dozens of small changes that make it impossible to restore the character back to what it was.

What good is saving a scene or character if they are changed when reloaded?

Now it's back to the drawing board.

Thank goodness found the problem.  For some reason the saved character had a mis-applied morph.  It was one of Trekkiegrrl's M4 younger morphs, cheeks softer.  When originally applied it applied in a strange way.  The dial at 1 applied it at a strength as if the dial was dialed to 6.  To apply it as if it were 1 the dial had to be at -4.

After re-loading it was acting like a normal dial.  1 meant 1.  So at -4 it was radically "un-applied".  That's why the chin was pulled up and in towards the neck.
