I saw that the other day and I was wondering if anyone had tried it with Reality.  I think it'd probably do better on short, wiry hair and fur than long hair, but it's nice to know it's Reality compatible.

I just finished an animation render with the Cyborg M4.  I successfully got the Daz camera to matchmove with the real one, although it was a convoluted process to get tracking data imported.  I rendered the cyborg to 75 samples per frame in Reality, just to keep the render time down.

Hi Paolo,

I know you probably will no see this post until after christmas, but can you tell me, will you be doing an update to Reality 2.5, to take advantage of all of the new features in the upcoming Lux 1.2 (particularly SLG3/4) and the New SLG renderer, that can be actuated from within Lux.????, and the 'Cloth' material.??

Or are we going to have to wait until the release of Reality 3.

Cheers and Merry Christmas,

S.K.

Hello.

Development of Reality 2 has finished. Except for bug fixes and updates for possible Studio conpatibility there will be no more changes to Reality 2. All my development time is now dedicated to Reality 3, which is a big leap forward compared to Reality 2.

Besides, the SLG renderer is still very immature so we need to wait a little bit more :)

Happy Holidays to everybody.

I used slg in the beginning havent in a long time. Please do post when the official 1.2 is released here.  I have been using a weekly build due to not being able to live without the refine brush which is a  HUUUGGGE time saver! I know Doc took a swipe at me for my postwork a few pages back, but due to doing alot of size altered scene textures get stretched which often results with unnatural sharp shadowing that NEED to be postworked but I get my end result..

@ Mousso

Love both dresses used! Both images are beautifu but l must say I like the lighting on her face and her expression more in the second one. That is an absolute winner in my book!

Thank you :)

Callad, yes I saw the difference too. Its weird because I used the same lights (mesh) with the same values. I will reload and add more power the the front mesh.

This is it for this year.

no postwork. I use crf's and play with gamma and color space until it looks how I like it. And lots of meshlights with colorful textures on them. And vignetting.

Cheers and Merry Xmas to all. On my way to the big family party :D

Can somebody show me how to configure this to use GPU for rendering? Mine bombs out. Don't think I set it up properly. Screenshots of the interface settings will be greatly appreciated. I have an i7 with 16GB ram using win764 and my GPU is an nvidia Geforce 560 TI. Thanks:)

Mousso, wonderfully rich textures on those first two.  I do agree that the face, especially in the first one, needs a little more "pop".

And I love that third one, which in my mind, should have a title of "Keep Your Hands off My Ass".  ;-)

There's really nothing to configure.  I've never figured out why, but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  Nvidia users need to set OpenCL workgroup size, but that's the only setting to change.

I googled "gpu rendering reality" and there are a few discussions out there covering multiple issues. Sorry I can't help more.  I gave up trying with GPU and SLG.

Doctorjellybean ( ) posted Mon, 24 December 2012 at 10:44 AM

This is from memory (which gets worse the older I get), but I think one can only use certain lights for GPU rendering. Or maybe that's SLG. Or maybe I'm totally wrong

It would help to know exactly what it means that they "bomb out". When asking for help the more precise details you can provide the easier it is to give you precise solutions. Since you are using nVidia cards then you must set the workgroup size to 64 because nVidia OpenCL drivers are buggy and they need that value. You also need to set the scene type to Exterior. Lastly you should not have displacement and/or subdivision in your materials. This is for Lux with GPU, SLG is different.

Hope this helps.

Made this to be the wallpaper on my new phone. Lot easier than finding a wallpaper I liked somewhere else as I was able to plan the open space for my clock, icons, etc.

I'll post a screenshot of my phone when I finish setting it up.
