Here's my latest...
Midnight Snack
And another I've been toying with... I don't know if I'm happy with this or not, it's still running through Lux to remove some more noise but I think I need to rework the background to get the effect I want, time will tell if I like this enough to continue with it...
Angel Lament
Enjoy,
Abi.

I am in the process of getting everything re-installed along with 4.5 and thought I would give your studio lights a try on a quick scene. The spots work great but the softbox is not giving off any light. Was this made to be a prop to fill a scene or should it be emitting light?
We are in the same boat KrazyHorse, I've got tons of V4 stuff to put on, so much to do and so little time.
As I have not got any of my own stuff installed this is from memory, the softbox will work as a light source, if I remember rightly all you have to do is set the diffuser material to mat-translucent. Like all lights you may want to play with the voltage and gain till you get the desired effect.
At the moment I have not got a project so I'm bored, is there anything else you would like me to make ?
Thanks John... I guess if I wanted to use it as a light I would need to change the diffusers opacity in studio because it loads as a light in Reality and there is no way adjust the materials. If I do the scene I was thinking of I will give that a try.
Be aware that all content for Genesis is be updated for DS 4.5. To anyone that has moved to 4.5, you might want to check this link.
Here is the link: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewthread/3885/
As far as a project goes, the only thing I can think of that I have had a need for several times in the past would be some crystals (single and clusters).
If you would like to tackle this let me know and I will find you some links.

I really like the second one Abi, very mystical. Looks good enough to be a poster IMHO.
A bit OT, but I'm extremely happy to announce to my second family in this community that the wife has survived her 127 hours of nerve-wracking labor and delivered our first child (a little girl!!) this morning at 0746! Figured I'd stop in while I'm making my celebratory hot laps around the world. Zoom Zoom Zoom!

Congratulations to you both, please pass my best wishes to your wife and little one. I'm glad when I had my daughter it was only 12 hours, 127 would have killed me!
Congratulations again,
Abi.

John, if you are looking for something to do, I was looking for a nice set of assorted candles and flames a while back. You do quality work and I'd love to see a candle pack from you, whether you sell it or make it a freebie ( as you so often do. THANKS )
I'd like to see an assortment of styles (Taper, Stick etc) and maybe versions that are at different stages of melting. I bet many people would find these useful.
Just a thought.
Thanks for all you do.

Congrats to you and the Missus, SBT. and a big welcome to the newest member of our Reality community When should we expect her first render?
Congratulations to all of you. Man, 127 hours is brutal, all the best to her, she deserves to rest and recover.

Thank you all! She's doing quite well (the missus) considering. Rest is much needed for both of us, but I'm too excited to sleep at the moment!!
I thought her stretch was pretty extreme, but I asked the nurses and one told me that some women have been in such a state for 2 months! The female body, or the body in general, continues to astound me in ways I can't even fathom. She's just happy the feisty fireball is out =D No more Baby-Bo on her tummy!
I think her first render is way, way out on the horizon, but I will start her early with chubby crayons. We'll probably have holographic screens by then!

Rough preview version, not sure what I'm gonna do with this.
The result of several hours of fiddling with file transfer between 3D Studio Max and Autodesk Inventor. Interesting things can be done with that, but it takes a lot of time to find out what does work and what doesn't.
Cheers!

I like the purple fog. The foreground tree might be better with a stronger bump/normal map. But even though I don't normally go in for angel pictures, I like the way this one is composed.

You know, I never even looked at the trees, I was focussing on the lighting and character, good point well made, Thanks.

Oh Abi! This is ~beautiful~! wOw!
I am loving the results of this render! I've had my first ever "photo" comment on DA, AND Callad likes it, can't get much better than that huge grin
Abi.
Edit: just a quick note but I'm also working on a modified version - a proper angel one, hopefully I'll like it as much as this one.

Cheers Guys,
All upgraded to 4.5 & 2.5 respectively, so far so good, and no dreaded 'duplicate errors'. Mind you I don't have very much Genesis content at this time.
Thanks,
S.K.

Hey Callad, Thank you..
Huummmm,,
Think I may have spoken too soon.
The U.I is dismally slow, with it taking ages to load up runtime folders, and sometimes on startup the Program just stops responding and all I get is a blank white screen in the U.I.
Had no problems with 4.0 at all.....
...sigh...but then this IS Daz and I guess such things are par for the course.
I have a pretty powerful system (Intel 3930K, 16gb Ram, W7 64 BIT, Nvidia 580GTX 3gb Graphics card)..so I don't think it is my system specs..
Anyhooo..hopefully will post up something soon..
Cheers,,
S.K.
Oops!.. Well, let's hope things will work out and you can render what you want soon.
I found that the UI almost comes to a halt if it comes to responding when I have something in my scene on which I used the Multi Layered Image Editor. When I change the MLIE for a regular jpg, DS is purring like a little kitten again. :)

Quote - Abi.. where'd ya get the greenery in your scenery? I've been looking for something like that for a while now.
First, great render above, I'm not military but have seen enough movies to know about the "last round".
The greenery is part of the "secret graveyard" http://www.daz3d.com/shop/the-secret-graveyard-by-merlin, I unparented the parts I wanted so I could remove the other parts and played musical grass for ages positioning it all. It's a great set as it is but I wanted an open backdrop instead of walls and tombs.
Abi.
