Either that or I got banned...  😉  I can't log in.  It wasn't supposed to go off until tonite...

The last post was by 3DProclivity about 40 minutes ago...

EDIT I should add that the Store seems to be up, although I didn't try to buy anything...

Yes I had the banned thought too because I was just debating why DAZ made the EULA so restrictive by not allowing copying rigging for an injection pose into DAZ figures (which would make it easier to weight map them in poser and then sell injections to people.  It makes a good starting point for tweaking Im told) to me that doesn't seem any different from selling a character package that uses morphs ++ etc.  You still need to own V4.

Anyway i'm stopped in my tracks for the moment.

Which would make it Midnite EDT, if I sprung forward properly...

I was trying to post a link to some morphs a fellow was looking for, and my computer crashed hard and repeatedly.  I think the motherboard chipset was overheating as the heatsink was too hot to touch and was wiggly.  I took it off, cleaned the chalky stuff that used to be silicone grease off the sink and the chip (Carberator cleaner still has its uses in this digital age!), put on some Artctic Silver and we'll see how it goes.  Anyway, by the time I got back online at about 2:55, the Forum was closed..

Seems like something has gone wrong with putting up the new website. They were supposed to go down by noon (yesterday) and be gone for a few hours..... I guess they miscalculated that a little.

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

They were talking about being up again Thursday morning, hopefully.

24 hours seems to be what most people are looking at, so its a bit early to start saying they miscalculated.

It is up now, but they apparently still have a lot to do - forums still read-only, store filters don't work properly

Ah, I see... take it the whole site is now migrated to the ExpressionEngine CMS...

Well, now I can see the count of items in my wishlist from top nav bar.... not the total value though... which is probably just as well ;-)

Quote - My available downloads are still exe and zips with Mac Install builder files...

If they're going to retro-actively change all that, this will surely be a truly massive undertaking for them I would have thought...

...are these installers not all going to be precompiled, for each operating system, OS X and Windows?

I had more interpreted it that they were going to swap to zips for newer items?

But I don't know... I guess if they have all the content source files stored somewhere in a standardised folder structure it just a case of running a script or two to reorganise and zip up each product folder...

...in a DS4 friendly variant and a Poser friendly variant ideally, otherwise there will be cross-pollution of unneeded files I guess...

...pure speculation from me here! It will be interesting to see what happens with the product deliverables ;-)

As an OS X Lion user, when it comes to Poser, the older (PowerPC based) installers can be a real pain to extract stuff from!

Yikes.

Cannot order itemized order history by date, and there are no links to the product pages.

No links to artist name on product pages.

No dates for end of sale prices on product pages.

There don`t appear to be any PC discounts on Daz Originals, other than $1.99 PC items.

Some items in my wishlist have gone up in price -- still on sale, but at a lower discount.

And judging from the way the category filters are working, it looks like they`ve vaulted half the store.

I think it must still be very much a work in progress.

Someone recently mentioned creating a spreadsheet to keep track of orders -- it may have been you -- and I decided to do so myself yesterday.  I'm truly glad I did and thankful for the suggestion.  Sorry to hear that you didn't think to update it yourself. It will be a PITA -- also when resetting downloads.

EDIT  On reflection, I realized I had accessed the order history last evening, and I was able to load it via the browser Forward button.  My lucky day.  😄

I can't find any colour theme option at the moment, so hard to see whats on the menus.

I don't want to start playing with changing colours yet in case they change later.

There is also a new product in the store that has a faded out pic, so hopefully they will solve that.

At the moment I wouldn't advise anyone to to use the store. Wait until the system goes live instead of beta.

If I was testing and had to look at the screen for hours, I would have had a darker background and a light text. Less eye strain.

Hi Tparo

As far as I can see, most folk in this thread are all, at least, themselves Daz customers... sufficiently enough to need to use spreadsheets to keep track of their ordering in some cases...and therefore have a valid interest / concern regarding the implications the current overhaul will have on their customer experience?

I would guess also that to some extent folk are commenting on all this here because they don't currently have the option to do that in Daz's forum? Just my observation...

Daz's web dev team have my every sympathy and I look forward to seeing the end result!

Cheers ;-)

paganeagle2001 ( ) posted Thu, 17 May 2012 at 8:50 AM

Yep, no info can be posted at their site, so people are passing time for when it goes live.

Now, if I see any website that has text that can hardly be read then I let people know.

The person at the other end may not know as their cache could be showing something else.

That is passing info on, you do realise that teh DAZ team watches here and will be picking up things that are said here and passing it on to their tech team.

Beta testing takes a while to do for content, so imagine doing it for a whole site.

There will be problems, people will find those problems and report them.

Again, that is passing on information to make something better.

I had a problem with the new SR 2.1 for PP2012, so I passed on this information and due to this a new updater will be coming out to solve that problem. If I wanted I could have waited until someone else reported the error and wait for a solution, but I did my bit.

All the best.

Quote - Have they changed the address completely? Or have I just been unlucky and tried to access the site on the times when it has been down again?

I'm having the same problem using the link I have in my favorites.. I just can't get there from here, lol.

Also, I apparently "I am not authorized" to view the Members Only forum, even though my membership doesn't expire until April of 2013.  hmmmm... I'll wait a few days for all the wrinkles to fall out and see if they fix that.

As far as the color scheme, it appears to be exactly the same as the old front page to me, unfortunatly I use Chrome, so I don't have that cool change color thing, lol

Quote - As far as I can see, most folk in this thread are all, at least, themselves Daz customers... sufficiently enough to need to use spreadsheets to keep track of their ordering in some cases...

Now that it's updated, counting some Studio and Bryce registrations and PC renewals, 1242 items...

As I noted above, I don't think they are finished with the PC status.  They'll work it out... SOON!!!!!  :tt2:

I'm using Firefox and using Colour That Site, just checked invert brightness on the foreground and background options, went to settings and selected Site in scope of definition and now I can view the new site without searing my eyes, as seen in the screenshot :).
