may i pour you a cup of Joe?    skillet heating up, pancakes or flapjacks for the morning tumbly rumblies? ala mode?  ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate chips for those flapjacks!

spent the last 5 weeks studying dreamweaver, is time to spend a whoOOole day in poser.

the goal- complete a project or two.  complito, finito, smack it onto a page somewhere.

need a random generator algorythm to decide what to do first.

• funhouse (mirror maze), inspired by other thread.  Maze was quick 'n' easy;  the extruded text signage is taking time.  The neon signage will have internally hidden IDL emitters (so the IDL will work in P8 or later) and glowing fade-away aura.  The neon materials will be animated, so that the letters light up in chaser sequence.  Argh.  Photobucket is still not uploading;  I'll attach a Silo screenshot...

Sounds like a well loved pup. :)  I'm going to spend the morning attempting to model an idea I had for hair, then maybe renders later.  Bacon and coffee are going now.. it's going to be omlettes here.

I also have a digital camera now and I want to go out sometime this weekend to try it out for textures.

My cat keeps sitting RIGHT in front of my monitor though.  I think it's a conspiracy.

Oh yes, my kitty is a real Diva.. he thinks my wacom tablet is his kitty bed.  Keep in mind I have a sizable L shaped desk, but his spots of choice are still directly in front of me.  I mean, I might miss his 13 pound fluffy self if he sat in another spot on the desk and that just wouldn't do.  :D

I now have a skullcap done using the base bust in Silo and deleting out the uneeded geometry and moving points around.

To Do List:

1)  Get off the forum pages and into P7.

2)  Post exquisite art to the Gallery and submit high quality "must have" items to the Marketplace review board.

It is the stuff between 1 and 2 that slows me down. :D

1.1  Quit getting mad that every female toon since Posette seems not to have newbie friendly dials for anything related to breast size/shape that does not also adjust her whole shoulder area, then study tutorials and learn how to use morps and magnets instead.

1.2   While in Group Editor, figure out how to see the surface of a toon that does not have black lines on charcoal skin other than by using wireframe or cartoon settings.  Lights and materials are irrelevent - the toon is black on not-quite-black unless depth is switched off, then they are black on lighter - oops - now the toon is too far into the fog and I cannot see the small polygons anymore.  Never happen in P5 and always happens in P7.

1.3  Once hair patches can be made using the grouping tool, practice growing hair.

1.4  Once tired of body paining "clothes" on everything using the grouping tool, practice making actual clothes.

Well, my Saturday turned into an Odessey.  We went to Walmart to get batteries for my camera, and were going to head downtown for a hour or so of taking photos.  The car wouldn't start so a 2.5 mile trek home in shoes that really were not made for that sort of walking to get my car.. then jumpstarting the other car.. a trek to autozone for a new battery.  

But.. it wasn't all bad.  I got taken out for awesome barbeque ribs after.  Yum.

Now back to work!

i haven't accomplished any projects yet.  well, i did finally learn how to make flyout menus in dreamweaver, - but the poser front is still a canvas in chaos.

i need  a whole week to devote to poser.  :)  a/c cranking cool air, martini in non-mouse hand.

Didn't get the Daleks finished off, got sidetracked into other stuff.  Still, almost ready now.

big project day tomorrow.  a few hours on the mirrors again, still trying to nail the warp effect in BB's example.  and i'd like to try antiquing the mirror frame.

a few hours n the setup room.  and lots and lots of hours in wings.

MistyLara: If you're delving into Dreamweaver and want powerful extensions (menus, image handling and all sorts of other goodies), look up Project Seven. I use their stuff frequently, and their support is absolutely top notch.

Have got a crazy long render going so wasting time on the forums and waiting.

thanks!  i have a few chapters to go in the dreamweaver bible.  it says you can drag and drop layers to trigger events.    and timelines to fly layers around.  if it's possible to randomize those, like the random banners.    maybe a couple of active rss feeds.

My PP 2012 machine is miles away.  I do have 2010 on this laptop, but haven't had the urge to open it yet; I may demo it to my oldest nephew when he visits later.

Think I have entered perpetual runtime reorganization mode and see no escape in sight!

Later today:

1  Mow two lawns before it rains all weekend.

2  Make lots of tea.

3  Log into Poser 7 and try using a model other than Posette instead of just looking at them, especially since most were purchased and not included with the program.

4  Make generic pose sets for my project and then select which ones go with which character rather than wasting time trying to figure out what I want each character to do.

5  Make a whip prop that can be a basic whip and can also be illuminated to look like a wand with a whip effect instead of making multiple props to do the same thing.

That will probably take most of my play time today.

Oh, Lara, I'm jealous, I took today off because tomorrow is my birthday.  I'm a temp at my job, so not much vaca time.   The pina coladas sound so good.  

I'm working on an outfit, lots of box modeling for it, pants, shirt, jacket.. and I want to do boots.  I'm using Fungazi's tutorials to help.  :)

I want to do some renders too.. it's also GW2 beta weekend!  So many choices.

I don't think the V4WM bones will work on M4, that's why they were making them for Michael, but the project seems to have been delayed for a bit.

For a static shot, I would just use the Conforming Hair included in P5 and use lighting / water effects to adjust the image and not the hair. :)  Anything else, though, it would need to be strands.  No idea what to suggest for that.

I have seen some "underwater" renders and some "behind-the-fishtank" ones in the Gallery here - maybe ask the artists if you come across something?

Spent the last 10 weeks taking a course on character design by a guy from Dreamworks so that I can improve my design techniques.  I currently have 10 characters in the pipeline to make for Poser. A character I worked on should be announced soon and of the 10 I'm now working on, I'm on number 4.   I'm also working on a comic book in what little spare time I have and trying my best to develop something called a, "life", whatever that is.
