Do you have dual monitors installed?

That problem is easily fixed.
It seems that there is a bug in the system that reports the resolution of the acreen when using multiple monitors on Windows. As a result Reality thinks tha the screen is much taller than it actually is.
To solve this problem simply reconfigure your computer to use a single screen and restart Reality. The window should be resized to fit the screen, this is a feature of Reality. Resize the window to the dimensions that you want and close Reality, the size will be saved.
Switch your computer's configuration to use two monitors again and restart Reality, you should be able to use the window without problems.
All the best.

Thanks! That did indeed fix it. Now, I just have to figure out to get Luxrender to not crash anytime I have GPU enabled. I am using luxrender 1.0RC2. I did try the 0.8 version; but in that one luxrender reports SurfaceIntegrator doesn't support HybridSamplerRenderer.
As mentioned above, my videocard is NVidia GTX670; which does support OpenCL; so I am a little perplexed. I tried it on a scene with just one object to see if that made any difference; but it doesn't.
The fact that the card supports OpenCL doesn't mean that you have the OpenCL drivers installed. Make sure that you have indeed the latest OpenCL. Pleas enote that installing CUDA drivers doesn't mean that you have OpenCL.
If this doesn't solve the issue then the best option is to post in the LuxRender forums.
All the best.

Make sure that you don't have a displacement map in the figure. That can cause crashes. I use GPU regularly on my scenes with GPU acceleration.

Hello.
The minimum screen resolution for Reality 2 is 800 pixels. If you use Windows you might be able to resolve this by hiding the taskbar.
Hope this helps.

I hide the task bar too, but more because I like the extra space and the clean look. Lowering your mouse down to the general area where it would normally be pulls in back into view when you need it. In windows, you can right click on the task bar, hidden or locked, and pull up a menu to change this.

Thanks, although hiding the taskbar doesn't show enough of the buttons to actually see what is written on them, I've worked out which is the render button, so problem solved! :) However, there is another issue I need help with.
Like Jcleaver I've had reports in luxrender that SurfaceIntegrator doesn't support HybridSamplerRenderer. I have a GTX 550 Ti video card which does support OpenCL and am aware that means nothing unless I have the correct drivers but where do I get them from and exactly what drivers do I need to look for to help resolve this issue?
I guess I'm a relative newbie to all things DAZ since I downloaded a free copy earlier this year, so I would really appreciate any help and advice.
Thanks in advance! :)
If you are receiving the message about the SurfaceIntegrator it means that you are using an old version Lux. Please download Lux 1.0RC3 from luxrender.net, install it and configure Reality to use that version. You can do that by clicking on the Output tab and clicking in the Change button at the botto, of the page. Navigate where Lux 1.0 is and you will be done.
If you have a nVidia card you might need to set the workgroup size to 64, in the same Output tab. This is because of a bug in the nVidia OpenCL drivers.
Hope this helps

No, there is no need to uninstall Reality. In fact you can have several copies of Lux installed at the same time and use the Output tab to switch from ine to the other.
Best.

In the "GPU Acceleration" group, second after the "Output group". It's labelled "OpenCL workgroup size"

Quote - Unfortunately, in the Output tab under GPU Acceleration, all I have is the option to tick GPU acceleration, Use SLG for rendering and SLG highly responsive.
Then that means that you have an old version of Reality 2. You can download the latest from my website:

Hi Paolo, I purchased the latest version as you suggested but now I am having other difficulties. Every time I try to use SLG rendering, after a few minutes it crashes and I see this in the log, [SLG] [PathOCLRenderThread::0] Rendering thread ERROR: clWaitForEvents(CL_OUT_OF_RESOURCES) I haven't had any problems with the GPU rendering and the results have been very impressive but obviously the process takes a lot longer. Does this mean there is an issue with the OpenCL drivers? By the way, I did set the workgroup to 64 as you advised
Thanks in advance.

There are two ways if using thw GPU, one is with Lux and one is with SLG. They are two different programs. If you run out of resources with SLG it probably means that the RAM in your GPU is not sufficient for the scene or the textures. You can try downscaling the textures, see the options in the Output tab. The other option is to use LuxRender 1.0RC3 with the GPU enabled. Lux doesn't use the GPU's RAM for storing data so it doesn't suffer from that limitation. It's not as fast but it might help you. All these considerations are variable with each scene. Simpler scenes might be able to be rendered with SLG.
Hope this helps.

Thanks again Paolo, my card is a NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti and here are the specs.
If this card isn't up to rendering anything other than simpler or lowered texture scenes using SLG, what card would be more suitable for rendering something more complex?
Cheers.
Quote - PS. I Just checked the renderer texture setting and it is 0.25k.
Your card isn't so much the problem, it's the fairly limited on-board memory of the video card; not just yours, any video card. For SLG to really work, as Paolo noted, getting the texture sizes down is really important. Essentially you need to make a normal size Lux render, around 2 GB worth of data (or many many more you're like me!) fit into 1.2GB worth of space.
Now with the 'collect textures', be weary of where you set that slider. Too small and you'll have seams showing on everything. It's been reccomended to start at 1K and see how it looks.

Thanks for your advice, having only started using this medium in February this year, it seems the deeper I get into it, particularly since I purchased Reality 2, the more I realise how little I know! But I have the will to learn and the need to create, so as I'm becoming more aware of my own and the techonolgy's limitations, and have seen what can be accomplised in this medium, I'll just have to stick at it until I get it right! :)
Cheers

Sorry so long in replying but offline stuff has kept me away from here for far too long!
I've been able to render using SLG to a certain extent thanks to the tips I have been given but I realise that I will need to invest in a new GPU. Unfortunately my 1GB GTX 550 Ti isn't up to rendering more complex scenes using SLG, and in GPU mode it can take many hours. Any of your recommendations would be very welcome. :)
What kind of recomendation you need?

I just installed Reality 2.2, and I can bring up the Reality engine. However, the dialog sizes to bigger than the monitor and I can not move it up, nor does it have any way of resizing the dialog. Which means, the render button is not showing. Sort of makes this plugin useless for me at the moment.
I am running Daz Studio Pro 4.03 on Win 7 Ultimate. I have a NVidia GTX670 graphics card. Any tips would be appreciated.
I also tried resizing the Studio window to see if that helps, but it does not.
