Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 11 3:50 am)
Quote - using the default installation setting
is your problem. It has placed your runtime in a folder which Poser can't write to. There are a number of threads on this in the Poser forums.

Rereading the original post, a Poser 9 content folder is correctly created where it is suppose to be for the default installation. However, a Downloads folder is not created. Your content is being placed into the original Poser folder within Program Files. You will need to move your content to another location. I just checked my PP2012 install using default settings and a Downloads folder does not coexist with the content folder.
Quote - If you unzip via the Content Tab in Poser, it usually places content within the Downloads folder. Or it used to anyway. I haven't bought content in years so that may have changed.
I just tested it.
It unzips to wherever you tell it to - by default: users/public/documents/Poser xxxx content/downloads.
Then it creates and links a runtime called "downloads" where you'll find the content. However, you need to refresh that runtime/library to see newly installed stuff.
It works. It works whether or not Poser is installed in Program Files because it doesn't install content into Program Files unless you tell it to.
It might not work if you point the installer to a runtime within Program Files, but that is not the default nor the recommended location for content.

Hi all,
Today I received my Poser 9, I installed it on my win7/64bit PC, using the default installation setting, which makes the 'downloads' folder in C:UsersPublicDocumentsPoser 9 Content
After installing the folder is there, but when I unzip some content to it, Poser doesn't read the folder, it stays 'empty' in Poser, while the content is in the folder...
Some help would be appreciated..
