make a material file... in the materials section ..
The TEXTURE/MAT POSE files you CANT make with poser, that needs a external tool..
But the Material files work fine and its not saving geometrics in any way..
Chris
in the materials room save a Material Collection and select all the materials you want in it (thats probably all materials for the item). That will be an .mc6 file and .png thumbnail in your material library.
You can convert an mc6 file to a mat pose file with a text editor if you have to but people need to get used to using mat files.
You will need to make a zip file with the mc6 and thumbnail and any image files you used for distribution.
I did a tutorial to convert mc6 to pose files, here http://lullystutorials.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Convert%20.mc6%20to%20.pz2 you probably wont need the additional programme unless you have millions of files to convert and it just saves you a heap of work.

Thanks everyone. In daz I only had to save the clothing textures but in poser this seems a lot harder.

The additional work is if you want to do a pose mat file, this is not needed in poser as we have the material room with it's own library folder, so if you just want for poser use then its just a click and save function.
I think people chose to recreate a pose mat file in the pose library folder for DAZ purposes if I remember correctly as DAZ doesn't have (or didn't have) mat files.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember that so almost sure (it's been a long day at work and me brain may not be functioning correctly now lol)

I only started with p6 so didnt realise that and in the day of p9 people still use pose mats and cloggs up the pose folder? oh well ...

I try not to and use mat files, but then you have to explain that they are in the mat folder. I think maybe the character packs are keeping that option alive as they are nearly always in the pose folder along with the morphs, maybe it's easier to keep them in one place. I tend to take the best skin option of a char pack, add EZSkin and resave in the mat folder.
I think there needs to be a campain going to encourage the use if there isnt a reason why it should not, lol :)

Hello, I know how to do this in daz but not sure in poser 2012. I have a few textures I want to give away as freebies but don't want to save the orginal shirt. Only the textures. I know the textures go in the texture folder however what do you save them as in the poser library. Material, props? I worried that if I save them as a figure it will save the whole shirt.
Thanks
