I personally would build my own grass blade .obj's and other elements for duplication as flinks meadow props are are a little low res for the project you suggest. I guess it all depends on the amount of work you want to dedicate to your vision.
There are like 50 million vegetation ground cover freebies out there in various formats...
Ps. OT, really need to create a custom texture for the Ant (has a nice cylinder UV) and hairs smart prop... really love using the little dude! http://www.daz3d.com/ant
The image shows some of her items close up. The light isn't perfect, but it gives you a good impression.
Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(
Food for thought.....

I think Snarlygribbly's subdivider is great for this type of application.
Obviously you'd only want to subdivide the more foreground grass props, I guess.
But, if you consider that you are using the grass prop you're thinking of subdividing as a significant / primary feature... you've probably got scope to add a few polys to your scene for such an aspect?
could try this

now its NOT the one I was looking for and I haven't tried it yet but looks interesting lol, the one I was looking for is too old I guess(some files are dated '98 opps)
Quote - Of course you can scale it to suit your needs... It has a basic texture map and material that I made and also has a template to create your own textures if you feel so inclined.
Hope it's somewhat useful. I imagine it will be in my free stuff by tomorrow night.
Ummm, Morphing Grass Blade Prop.
Cool, thanks Primorge... looks like a very useful prop that :)

Anyone try using these products in a "big" fashion? For example, "Honey I shrunk the kids" size? Do they look that good close up, or are they more suited to low poly, many objects, with a lot of corners in large size? Any examples?
Any other products or freebies that look goos in the manner that folks have used?
