Subject: Convert V5 map to a V4 map?
I'm sorry, I don't use DS at all. I installed it once and it didn't play well with Poser on the same machine. Poser renders would stall, so I uninstalled it. Is there any other way to convert this map?

AFAIK, Poser and DS don't know about each other and not share any resources. I have no idea what might have caused your problem.
In any case, Map Transfer is only utility out there. No 3rd party has put one out yet.
Worth mentioning is fact you have to have V5 character installed to convert her textures because it uses UV coordinates from that model. Same with other textures maps.
Okay, well that bites it then. I had trouble with DS so I took it off my system and I wasn't going to spend any money on Genesis anything. So looks like I blew money on that resource base. It will teach me to read more carefully before I buy. Thank you all for your help!

Oh, it was months ago, sometime last fall when I bought the product and just now got around to opening it up to have a look. I'm most likely out of luck. Too bad that the base wasn't for both V4 and the new V5, then I'd be cooking with fire. Ah, well. Thanks for the help!

If you have the DSON installed into Poser and all the files installed, go the Mec4D's site.
IIRC, she has a python script that works with DSON and changing UV's. I didn't bother with it because I ended up dumping DSON, Genesis and all related files as too fiddly and time consuming.
Also check Dimension3D's site. He has some scripts for the DSON as well.
I don't know if 3D Universe will add plugins for Texture Convertor 2 that would allow conversion between the Gen 4 and Gen 5 textures. You could always email and ask.

I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question. I did not thoroughly read the description over at DAZ a few months back when I was buying a merchant resource base. I thought I was buying a resource base for Victoria 4 but it is for Genesis V5. Is there some way to convert this to V4 so I haven't wasted my money on this purchase?
