Subject: Poser 7 and Windows 8 will it work

nyguy ( ) posted Wed, 13 March 2013 at 5:52 PM · edited Thu, 09 January 2025 at 5:52 AM

I have a new laptop with windows 8 and thinking of installing Poser 7 on it since I have Poser 8 and Poser 2012 on my main desktop. I don't want to uninstall Poser 2012 or 8 off my desktop because I use them there for testing and figure creation.

Any suggestions?

Can you only install to a single machine now?  Earlier versions didn't have that problem.

If you can only use one computer at a time then I think it's fine to install whatever you want on the laptop. The only stipulation is that you can't use two instances of the same version at the same time.

Online Now!

I see no reason why Win 8 should be a problem.  The only foreseeable issue would UAC interference if application and content are placed into the Programs folder.

BTW, you can use 2 instances of the same program at the same time as long as they do not access the same network.  Poser will detect the network activity; disconnect the computer from the internet and it will work fine.  Otherwise, it will restrict multiple running copies.

thanks for the advice, I am going to try installing P7 on my Win8 system. I need to use it for testing of stuff I am working on.
