Subject: Magnum gun seems to attach itself to a figure

Hi,

First many thanks for your help on my previous queries to date.

I am using Poser 2010, Windows 7 , amateur user.

My problem is that when I add a gun into a scene such as the Magnum gun it seems to attach itself to a figure in that scene. So when I move the figure it also moves the gun.

It even attached itself to a rat figure and when I deleted the rat the gun went also.

This happens with the revolver prop also so seems common to guns.

I feel it is connected with the gun being able to parent to M3, H3 or A3 hand, maybe this is why.

I tried to change parent but it is the same.

How to I arrange it so the gun is just another stand alone prop not connected to anything.

Oh and if I could on other short question.

Poser is good for internal scenes, I want to do some externals scenes.

What other program do you recommend that is most compatable with Poser that does external scenes, to import figures etc.

I have heard Vue mentioned.

Thanks in advance

Select the gun and go to OBJECT/Change Parent then select Universe (at top of dropdown menu). It should then be un-parented. You can then move it and parent it using the same menu.

Poser now does very good outdoor scenes - look down a few posts for outdoor lighting advise.

Ashley is correct IF the gun is a prop (i.e; found in the Props library).

If, however, the gun is a Figure (found in the Character lbrary), ya gotta go to Figure> Conform To> None

Online Now!

Except that if the gun is figure it will not auto conform, it will assume it's zeroed position.

Good point... I'm gettin' too used to drag/ drop from the Library in P12 (in which case it can auto conform).
