Subject: Reptile eyes from the darkness

Hi,

First many thanks for assisting me with recent posts, most appreciated.

I need help once more.

I have a night time jungle scene and want to put in reptile eyes shining out of the darkness.

I have been struggling with this for a while.

I need to be able

To put the pair of eyes anywhere on the scene

I need for them to shine, I have solved this already.

I need from them to go from side to side, hence the use of poser rather than photoshop.

I need to be able to reproduce them so several pair of eyes shine out.

I tried with a crocodile model but did not get the control or effects needed.

Any assistance appreciated.

thanks

Depends if you need to see an indication or silhouette of the creature itself... if not find a figure with the type of eyes and texture that you want and save the material of the eyes as a material collection (select all parts of the eye) to the materials library, export eyes of figure as wavefront object, each eye separately (single frame, include existing groups), reimport each eye with all options unticked, load material onto each eye object, position, scale, and rotate as needed for your scene.

Was kind of in a rush when I made my suggestions, wanted to add that parenting the disembodied eyes to a sphere primitive will make it easier to move the eye sets about your scene, the eyes themselves may still be rotated about their own axis or may be rotated as a group via the primitive. The visibility of the the Parent sphere may be toggled in it's properties tab or within the Hierarchy editor.

Also if you're having difficulty seeing in a darkened poser scene you might want to consider creating a preview only infinite light which will illuminate the workspace but will not be calculated during render. A preview only light can be created by the light parameter palette/properties tab/advanced material properties, which will bring you into the material room. There change the diffuse and specular color chips to black on the light.

Anyway, that's how I would go about trying to do what you seem to be attempting. Hope some of my suggestions are useful :)
