Subject: Best Freebie of 2012?

MeshWorks ( ) posted Thu, 11 April 2013 at 5:47 PM · edited Fri, 06 December 2024 at 12:03 PM

What was the best freebie you found last year? Nominate your favorite and tell us about it here.

There are a lot of great freebie makers out there. I know these people work really hard to bring you cool stuff to add to your content. Here's a wonderful way to acknowledge the work they do.

I appreciate and love em all, but for me, I would have to go with:

The free mcjTeleBlender framework for DS/Poser/Carrara to export to the Blender Cycles render engine.  Brilliant!!!!!!

I'm biased, but I'd pick V4-WM/Outfitter...

Looks like the forum links and download link there are busted.

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

There are so many, but this one has come in handy many times to put a little character into a scene and I didn't find it until Christmas time.  Thank you TruForm.

I am sure that everyone has EZSkin on their list of "Great Ones".  So, a big Thank You to Snarlygribbly.

Great idea for a thread Meshworks!!!

I knew about the Forum problem, but since the products pages worked, I didn't realise the download didn't work. RDNA has them free too...

All of the above ARE great freebies... Thanks for sharing. Let's keep going.

Your first line in the thread opening post said "What was the best freebie you found last year?"

But I had to tell you that I found these a long time ago and they are those types of items that get used so many times, I forget that they were freebies.  They work extremely well and are a perfect addition to so many of my renders.  I don't do sci-fi or fantasy, just normal people doing normal things, so what is more normal than a man or woman walking down the street carrying one of these.  Thank you, now back to 2012.

LOL... The last thing I expected when I started this thread was for one of my items to be mentioned. Thank you!

The Shopping Bag prop was one of my early freebies. Glad you were able to use it.

My favourite so far this year is an oldie but a goldie... Drops by Weird Juice, which allows metaball's to be made directly in poser.

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

Where can one find this, Mr. Sparky?

[If someone does this for 2013, I would say Who Street from Mr. Sparky.  Great street scene.]

Link above - works perfectly in P6 without any updates. BTW - thanks for the kind words.

What fool is asking this question? A perfect greek temple is no use if what you need is a flowerpot!

I wasn't asking about usefulness or if it was exactly what you were looking for. Shut up Troll.

I've never been able to get that to work, sad to say. I've tried in P7 on XP and both P7 and PP2012 in Win 7. A required .dll file is missing and, IIRC, when I did track it down and installed it in XP, I still couldn't get it to work. :(

Interesting, I'll see what I can find out, there. But, now I have to find the .dll again. :D

dunno what year it was, but I loved bionic rooster's ark of the covenant.  also sponza atrium and red viper's e. d. warehouse.

Wow, if I knew it was going to get a magazine spot, I woud've voted for 3DOutlaw's Tru for X08 Adrenaline!  ;-)  LOL!
