Subject: M4 Clothing and PP 2014 Issues

mamba-negra ( ) posted Mon, 27 May 2013 at 11:18 PM · edited Wed, 11 December 2024 at 12:49 PM

I'm wondering if others have run into this problem. Basically, loading clothing made for M4 which has FBM morphs to map to those in the Morphs++ package don't see to work. I tried quite a few different items (surprisingly, several didn't even have morphing support, and these were from DAZ:( ).

Anyway, the simplest example is this:

Load M4. Inject Morphs++ and dial up BodyBuilder up to 0.5

Load the ActiveWear T-shirt and shorts and conform them to the M4 figure. You will notice the shirt looks OK, but the pants don't seem to work.

Any idea what might be going on? When I do the same thing in PP 2012, it looks fine.

Nope, but I'd love to see what the answer is.

are both pieces superconforming?  curious if super conforming rules is changed.

it's deal breaker if Mike's pants don't work in pp14.

what happens if you manually set the morph on the pants?

The lack of morph support for the Gen4 and below figures has always been a problem.

Wardrobe Wizard can add any FBM you need but does require you to purchase the M4 add on from PhilC.

Other apps like Morphing Clothes, XDresser morpher, Morph Manager, and even Clothes Convertor can all add morphs to clothing.

And then there is the new Pro 2014 as well.

the o.p. says it works in pp12?

first guess is cross-talking and / or super conforming changed rules?

or maybe the pants has the morphs in a pmd and pp14 can't find it?

Typically, you would load M4, dial the morphs, load the tshirt and conform it, you then sort of sometimes have to go back to M4 and then load the pants and conform them. Crosstalk sometiems happns when you have the shirt selected between steps.

Shouldn't need anything specifically designed for crosstalk in Poser 9 or higher.

If there are identically named morphs in the Pants, select the Body of the Pants and on the Properties tab of the Parameters panel, check Include morphs when conforming.

The problem seems to be fixed with SP 1. I had stopped using PP2014 and went back to 2012 and had saved the Cr2. When I loaded it in 2014, it looked fine. When I deleted the items and tried a couple others, all worked fine. It wasn't a matter of user error. I tried all sorts of things trying to get it to work the first time around. I wonder if it was related to the error people noticed with V4's butt not fitting into her pants.

Anyway, I'm very happy with PP2014 now that this has been fixed. I haven't used it enough to say there are no crashes or other glitches, but so far, this was the only problem I noticed. I'm a little dissapointed in the comic preview. I thought it was actually a new renderer altogether, but depending on your lighting and the shaders you are using, it can look good. And it's fast! :)
