If I make a Hair prop, How do I go about making it into a posable figure(cr2?)? Can this be done in Poser? Each part that I want to bend is a seperate prop. Please help. TIA Deal

i too have problems making a hair prop and one of the other guys in the character creators forum told me that you can't create hair props in poser but you can in other 3d apps. my problem is that i am new to all the 3d programs and have no idea where to start making mesh obj for hair props or anything else so if anyone that reads this has any knowledge they are willing to share or suggestions please let me know. i will be checking this forum daily for responses. and if anyone needs to know i will be using bryce and lightwave for any modling i will be doing. thanks nabue

You have a long hair model? You want it to conform to the body group it covers? This Should work: Name the groups for the hair to match the corresponding body part. Take a copy of the figure CR2 change the geometry calls to that of the hair . Remove the references to unused groups in all three parts of the CR2 and delete the materials section. One thing about a conforming figure: it looks like it only works properly if there is one additional group in each direction in the model. For example: if the hair goes as far as the abdomen, you need a small piece of hip. You can shrink it to be inside the body and of course make it invisible. If it is wide enought to cover the collars, then you need a small piece of each shoulder. The exact size and shape of these 'pointer' groups is not important, but the channels in the distal groups need something to follow. So you will have groups in the CR2 that will not show on the prop. Depending on where you optained the pointer groups and how careful you are in the usemtl statements , you can have materials that do not show (if you cut-n-paste pieces of the figure geometry - these will provide a SkinBody material - unless you go in and fix it).
