Does anybody know if it is ossible to import ecosystems from Vue into Daz Studio. I want to experiement with reality renderer rather than Vue's render, but I dont know how to import landscaped terrains or if it is even possible.

Thanks for any help.

Hi.

have you teied exporting to OBJ from Vue? I don't know the program but I would expect that it had sucha feature. If yiu can export to OBj then you can import the model into Studio and render it via Reality.

Cheers.

E-on has plug-ins for various 3D apps to allow the import of ecosystems into their app for rendering, but Daz Studio is not one of them.  But it would be very cool if it were.

Vue X-streme is a plugin to use "Vue" within the native app, including exosystems.

It does exist for Max, Maya and C4D).  Direct export from Vue of an ecosystem is not possible.   Terrains and other objects are though.

With Vue Complete, you can export objects with ecosystem materials & animation rendered texturemaps.  Ecosystems themselves cant be exported in 3d, however it can be rendered in 2d on the surface of objects with depth maps applied to achieve similar effect.  Example is the heavily ecosystem created environments at 3dskydome.com (webgl 3d) , as they look the same when imported into DAZ.  Its all about the lighting in DAZ.  Thing that makes Ecossytems in Vue so cool is how they are applied and animate in relation to factors defined by the environment.  Since you will end-render in DAZ, you will need to align lighting to the baked UV & textures imported from Vue.

Apparently it s possible to export 3d animated "Eco-Plant" systems with E-On's The Plant Factory Studio, however my results are not good due to considerable import and export inadequacies with TPF.  It will export animated mesh as FBX, including vines wrapping around a roman collulm with leaves fluttering in loop cycles. *One fair warning **before purchasing the expensive app, *read the restrictive TPF EULA  to fully consider if it meets your needs.
