Subject: SR3 And Stephanie Petite Scales?

I thought I posted this earlier, but it seems to have disappeared.

I recently upgraded my Poser Pro 2014 to SR3 so that I could play with Reality 3 (it wasn't able to export my figures). When I did that, the scene I had been playing with, which uses V4 with Stephanie 4s Petite Proportion dialed in not longer looked right. The clothes no longer scaled like they did in SR2.? (whatever was before 3:)

Is there a fix other than manually applying those scales? I have checked the box on the body that tells it to follow scales, and it worked perfectly for everything except for a few hair props until now... I can't say that everything fails to work like it did in the previous SR, but the items I'm using for this (jean shorts and a top) refuse to scale automatically.

OK, so I quit playing with Reality long enough to look more closely at the scene, and it looks like the top is the only one that is messed up. From what I can tell, it knows how to respond to that dial already, so when I clicked on the "scale automatically" check box on properties for the body, it doubled the scaling. Something that wasn't happening in the previous version.

So, it looks like it's not a big deal, except for the occassional scene you might have these special items "double dipping", and it can easily be fixed by unchecking a single box....phew! Not that scaling is a huge deal. But, it could be a hassle if you figure is scaled differently in multiple places.

Scaling has not changed in SR3 as far as I can tell. I use it all the time with most of figures and see no difference

Be aware though that how scaling acts depends on how the clothing is rigged. Some vendors do the scaling in the rigging - and that is where you have to have the Scale automatically checkbox Off. If it is not in the rigging, the scale automatic checkbox will do it.

Yes. But this wasn't true for the version I used before I upgraded to SR3. It looks like they did do some cleaning, and maybe as a result improved it. I have had some cases in the past where it wasn't perfect (hair props mostly). I haven't checked to see if those problems have been fixed.

Hair props are a problem for the scaling - like parented props they scale with the figure. S3 scaling does not scale the figure, but the bodyparts - for hair props the head. You need to manually scale those. Automatic scaling only works for figures.

Hair figures usually work fine with automatic scaling, but not always and then you have to scale the head part manually. This was the case in previous versions as well
